'Woods & Water' is where you will enjoy comfort, fun and relaxing in our cozy-comfy cabin type home on Lake Lancer. Enjoy your breakfast on the large deck while you listen to the birds and watch the sun come up. Relax in the log swing or Adirondack chairs while watching the sun set on the lake… feel the gentle breeze in the large tree shaded yard. Head out on the lake for some great fishing (Bass, Walleye, Northern Pike and Pan fish). In the evening, sit around the fire pit with a glass of wine or make S’mores. Woods & Water is the perfect place for that great “Up North” feeling that we all love and is only 2 ½-3 hours from Detroit. The main floor living area is a combination living room (with Franklin stove-style gas fireplace), dining room, a fully equipped kitchen and enclosed porch with windows and door- walls that look out over the deck, wooded yard and the lake. The main floor also includes: Master bedroom (queen bed), queen sofa sleeper, a full bath and laundry room. The second floor has a full bath and 2 bedrooms with 2 full size beds in each room. The lake view is not just for summer…. enjoy all the changing seasons of Michigan.....great view of the colors of autumn…beautiful snow covered lake during the winter. During the summer enjoy the lake with swimming, boating, skiing/tubing, and fishing etc. Great place for hunters and fisherman and if you love Michigan outdoor sports there are lots and lots of trails in the area for hiking, ATV/ORV, X-country skiing, snowmobiling and snowshoeing as we are just off of M-30 that runs thru the 85,000 acres of the Gladwin State Forest and also near Clare, Houghton Lake, West Branch, Tawas and Oscoda, etc. Winter is also a great time to enjoy the lake with Snowmobiling, X-County Skiing and Ice Fishing….all of which you can do right outside the door or just about anywhere nearby. Spend a few hours sledding with the kids on the hills or skating on the pond at the Sugar Springs campground chalet. Getting a little chilled from your day out-doors..........warm up at the outside fire pit or the indoor fireplace inside the Chalet. SUGAR SPRINGS is a private recreation community in Gladwin, MI which is located half-way between the towns of Gladwin and West Branch off of M-30 and Sugar River Road. Sugar Springs offers; 2 All-Sports lakes…..Lake Lancelot (semi-private) and Lake Lancer (private), private (gated) Beach Clubs, several of which have a sandy beaches on shore, a roped off swimming areas (with sandy bottom and a shallow area that gradually becomes deeper), a PlayScape, swing sets. picnic tables and/or a pavilion, restrooms and a boat launch. One of the Beach Clubs has a sand volley ball area. It is home to the Sugar Springs Championship Golf Course, with a Pro Shop, Golf Pro and Clubhouse. The Clubhouse contains The Hearth (restaurant and pub) a Fitness Center and an Indoor Swimming Pool. During your stay with us, visit the Sugar Springs Campground which is the starting point for several hiking trails and in the summer, kids can enjoy the catch and release pond just outside of the Chalet. Inside the Chalet is equipped with picnic tables and fans (for summer) and heat and a fireplace… with wood provided (for winter). You may use it as a large game room or during the winter, a place to warm up, make some hot chocolate or roast hot dogs over the open fire after skating on the frozen catch & release pond or sledding down one of the 3 sledding hills. Keep an eye out for wildlife that is often seen in this area. SUGAR SPRINGS AMENITIES: As our guest, you will have access to all amenities. A few of the amenities require a fee for the activity. There is a fee schedule in our Welcome Book. Make sure that you have a guest pass with you. Sugar Springs has Beach Clubs scattered through out the community.
