Summary: I was visiting a friend volunteering for the Peace Corps just down the road so my location was critical. Was pleasantly surprised upon arriving at the White Sands resort. My room was well apportioned and very clean. It looked out through palms to a beautiful white sand beach and ocean. They even strung a hammock just outside my door which made for excellent down time. The road in is in pretty bad shape but they are looking to repair it. It adds to the rustic flavor! This is a very small and quiet resort There was no loud music or flurry of activity. It was wonderfully relaxed. The soon to be new owners have lots of fantastic plans to upgrade the property so I will be sure and return to check those out. I did visit the resorts further north and found them to be loud and rather cheesy. Bottom line is for the cost this is a wonderful place to stay in western Tonga.
