Serene mountain home in Crested Butte South with the best views in the Valley. Peaceful, quiet location nestled in a mature Aspen grove with expansive views to the west and south. Perfect for families; the house sits on a dead end road above the busier grid of CB South. Open floor plan with wrap-around windows and large bar in the kitchen for cooking and entertaining. Cozy in winter and shaded and breezy in the summer. A true mountain retreat!
This is our part-time home, not just a rental property and we love sharing the beautiful views and tranquil spot with friends and guests alike. The home was built in 2007 and has an open floor plan with kitchen, dining and living room in one large space, surrounded by windows with views of the valley. There are two queen bedrooms, one with a private attached bath, and also a bunk room for the kids. Engineered wood floors throughout give it a cozy, rustic feel. The yard is a lovely natural setting within a grove of Aspens. The front deck is perfect for spending an afternoon hanging out with friends or enjoying a book while the Aspens quake in the breeze. This area of Crested Butte South (CB South as it is called) on the ridge above the grid has less traffic/noise and feels relaxing and serene. There are a handful of other homes on our street, which is a dead end road, and its a perfect spot for a morning walk enjoying your coffee in the sunshine. Store your mountain bikes or skis in our large barn-like garage.
The house has all the necessary modern amenities but with a rustic, 'mountain chic' feel appropriate for the location. If you are looking for a luxury rental, this is not your place and we say that only because we want our guests to enjoy their visit as much as possible. CB South has more of a laid back, locals vibe and is approximately 6 miles from the bustle of town and the ski resort, which is what many here prefer.
CB South is a small community/residential subdivision 10-12 minutes from the town of Crested Butte and about 15 minutes from Mt. Crested Butte (though it is really all just one large valley with various subdivisions and CB South is the first one as you come up HWY 135 from Gunnison/Almont). The access point for the area is Cement Creek Road, which offers an incredible network of mountain biking and hiking trails, fishing and camping. The house is also around 20 minutes from Almont, at the confluence of the Taylor and East rivers, and a popular place to put in for a fish or raft trip down the Gunnison. Gunnison is around 25-30 minutes and offers more stores, restaurants and access to the western side of the area including Blue Mesa reservoir and Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park.
