THE HOME
Nestled in a picturesque rural setting, boasting serene water vistas of Glendale Gardens and woodlands, this delightful French Country Retreat is conveniently located just 20 minutes from the airport, 10 minutes from the world-renowned Butchart Gardens, and only 15 minutes from downtown Victoria.
This charming vacation home beckons you to unwind on your private patio, and bask in the comfort of a home away from home. The spacious and exquisitely adorned residence showcases stunning timber beams and accents that infuse the essence of West Coast warmth and wonder throughout, while abundant windows offer breathtaking views and fill every room with serene natural light.
Indulge in the phenomenal cooking facilities and relish in the convenience of all the amenities necessary for a delightful stay, with ample space for dancing in the kitchen.
After an exhilarating day of hiking at Goldstream Park or ziplining at Wild Play Parks (just a 10-minute drive away), curl up with a cup of coffee and a good book by the fireplace and take in the tranquility of your surroundings.
Unwind with a glass of wine in the hot tub or bask in the sunshine on a lounge chair in the backyard. The picturesque gardens, BBQ, outdoor furniture and dining table on the brick patio offer a beautiful setting for outdoor dining.
THE MASTER SUITE:

The spacious and inviting Master bedroom boasts a plush king-sized bed, a cozy love-seat, and a comfortable armchair nestled in a serene reading nook, complete with a private balcony offering picturesque views of the backyard and surroundings. With a customized walk-in closet and a stunning master en-suite, this room is destined to become your favorite in the house.
The exquisite master bathroom features a charming deep soaker tub, a generously sized open shower with a refreshing rain head, two separate sinks, and fresh linens, creating an idyllic retreat of relaxation and comfort.

A ten-minute walk from Chateau La Vie leads to the Glendale Gardens and Woodlands, where you can enjoy a delectable breakfast at Charlotte and the Quail, an exceptional eatery serving organic local cuisine on their exquisite garden patio at the Horticulture Center of the Pacific..
GUEST ACCESS:
The Charming French Country Home has ample parking for up to four vehicles on the right side of the gravel driveway and a private stone entry under the stone archway on the right side of the house.

We will be available to provide recommendations or assistance during your stay while respecting your privacy. Once your reservation is confirmed, we will provide you with the key instructions.

LOCATION:
The French Country Home is tucked away in a rural area (Saanich West) outside the hustle and bustle of the city, yet extremely central to all the main attractions. We are a 2 minute drive from Interurban Camosun College, 5 minute drive from Beaver Lake, 10 minute drive to Butchart Gardens, Goldstream Park and many beautiful beaches, 20 minutes from the ferry and a 12 minute drive to downtown Victoria.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:
The two-acre property encompasses four unique spaces, of which three are available for vacation rental. The main 6,200 sq ft building consists of two 3,100 sq ft custom homes situated side by side (duplex-style). My mother, Sharon, resides in the left-side dwelling and serves as property managers for the other three suites.
Chateau La Vie comprises four bedrooms, one king, and three queens, as well as a recreation room (with two additional queens) that we open for more than eight guests at an additional fee. Smaller groups may request this space to be added on for a fee.
The home is very private and has its own backyard, patio, and outdoor space. You may see other guests and my mother, Sharon in the front parking lot only.
If you are looking for additional rooms for larger family gatherings, you can ask for the link to our other two suites after the reservation is confirmed.
The Treetop Suite is a one-bedroom suite above my mother's home, which sleeps up to 5 guests. (Suite rents separately - ask for the link if you are interested in booking)
The Cottage is a bachelor suite on the lower property that accommodates two guests, and is pet friendly. (Cottage rents separately - ask for the link if you are interested in booking)

When the Entire Property is rented as a whole, it has the potential to accommodate up to nineteen guests. Please contact us for rates and availability.
VICTORIA:
Spend your days touring Centennial Square, Jazz Fest and the fabulous events of the summer season downtown Victoria. Take in all the street performers, talented local artists and incredible musicians on the world famous Inner Harbour and Government Street. Spend your evenings walking along the ocean at Dallas Road and stroll the breakwater to the picture perfect lighthouse, topping off the night with a beer and tappa at one of the amazing restaurants Victoria is famous for.
Saturdays, in the late afternoon and evening is a great day to plan to take in the stunning sights at the World Famous Butchart Gardens. Enjoy a dinner in the gardens and a fabulous fireworks display when the sun goes down, all summer long! Bring a blanket to lay on under the stars!
Here on a Thursday in the summer? Take a stroll through the quaint town of Sidney (a 15 minute drive away) and take in the largest street market in Victoria!!! A fantastic place to see all the local artisans, hear great music and eat dinner at the food trucks! A favourite night out for sure!
Most of the beautiful beaches in the Greater Victoria area are a short 15-20 min drive away. You can also enjoy a beautiful 10km walk around Elk and Beaver Lake, a 5 minute drive away. There are also beautiful walking trails right across the streets and the lovely Horticultural Center of the Pacific.
Planning a winter getaway? Victoria is known as the "Hawaii" of Canada, with mild temperatures and a very rare dusting of snow. Victoria is the adventurer's paradise with amazing hiking, scuba diving, and exploring year round, with incredible dining experiences and ocean views that will take your breath away. Plus, with a roaring wood fire to come home to after a day of exploring, and a hot tub out back, you have picked the coziest winter escape!
