Abita’s Cardinal's Rest is one of the few remaining historic hotel cottages from the golden era of hotels and spas in Abita Springs. Once part of the New Abita Springs Hotel, it is now a cozy cottage on a quiet street just a short walk to all the best things Abita Springs has to offer. The 31 mile Tammany Trace is just a block away. Our porch is secure storage for bicycles. Check out our restaurant listings, all exceptional and nearby. Spend some time bird watching from the comfort of the front porch. Cardinal’s do rest here! Our town has abundant wooded areas, the Abita River and creeks provide a birders paradise. The many parks and scenic waterways of beautiful St Tammany Parish are nearby. Visit other charming historic towns in the area such as Covington, Mandeville, and Madisonville. The heart of the New Orleans French Quarter is but an hour away over the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway. The rooms have wooden floors and high ceilings with ceiling fans and wooden blinds. A newly renovated half of a duplex with a private entrance, it has a living room with dining or work area and a large comfortable couch. I also have a cot with a 5.5" mattress. The bedroom has a queen bed, roomy closet, and dresser; also a private bath includes a tub/shower. It does not have a kitchen. See other amenities such as refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker.
