We've just opened up 2022 reservations! Updates include air conditioning and a new, high end mattress. This quiet, woodsy, oceanfront cottage could not be closer to the water or have better views! The path to the property's private beach is just steps from the deck! Waterlily Cottage is perfect for couples honeymooning or celebrating an anniversary, or anyone just getting away for a lovely, coastal vacation. Families with one small child have also enjoyed this quaint, comfortable, and tastefully decorated cottage. Though the setting is at the end of a private, well maintained dirt road, the property is close to all that Mt. Desert Island has to offer, (5 minutes to Acadia National Park!) and is a short distance to downtown Bar Harbor (5 minutes beyond the National Park entrance.) We are proud of preserving the 1930's charm of Waterlily, while making sure that modern comforts are secured. Enjoy amazing views from the king size bed, which is dressed with high quality bedding and is so comfortable that past guests have contacted us to ask about the brand of mattress! The small but mighty kitchen is intentionally stocked with items to make sure your kitchen time isn't a chore: high quality cookware, sharp knives, a french press AND a drip coffee maker, microwave, blender, toaster, and everything you need for home based lobster bakes! For grilling types, we've provided a propane grill (with an extra tank and all necessary grill tools) on the deck, so that you can enjoy cooking with a view. While this is a great place to unplug, there are 2 TVs and high speed wifi internet which is fast enough for you to stream your favorite shows and movies on your laptops, phones, or tablets. We've made sure that the seating in the living room is super comfy and inviting, with ample lighting for readers and knitters. Waterlily Cottage is part of Queen Anne's Cottages, which is an eco-friendly, pet friendly property. Each of the 3 cottages have their own personality, privacy, wifi network, parking, recycling, and specific amenities. Guests from all 3 cottages can share the lovely oceanside fire pit, and the property's private beach. If you are booking well in advance, several families have rented 2 or all 3 of the cottages for their week long family vacations/reunions.
