Warriwul Farmland Rural Retreat B&B | House in Curramore

1 Bedroom House in Curramore
Summary:
Your hosts are Graham & Ann who are super friendly and love hosting guests on their property. The beautiful Rural Farmland Retreat awaits discerning guests in a hidden valley of rolling evergreen pastures, surrounded by towering rainforested escarpments, just outside the quaint Jamberoo Village in the Illawarra region of NSW.
Your stay includes Continental breakfast.
The Space:
**Please note this property is not suitable for children or infants aged over 9 months old. There is no provision on the property for any children. It provides for two adults only for any stay**.
Your accommodation for up to two guests is a large, quiet, private, ground-level unit under the main house but entirely private with its own entrance, fully self-contained and with its own private patio and BBQ area. There are landscaped gardens and lawns surrounded by a tall-trees forest, all of which you can view from your queen-size bed when you pull back the curtains each morning.
The same refreshing green vistas greet you from the kitchen as you brew your morning coffee. Just outside, through the double French doors, is a covered all-weather patio with outdoor furniture for barbecues or just to contemplate the setting, soak in the peace and quiet of the place or watch the sun go down. In the early morning or late evening, you may see the local wallabies, possums and hares and you’ll certainly see and hear the multitude of native birds which also call this Retreat home.
The patio and barbecue area has bug-deterrent lighting for drinks and a BBQ in the cool of the evening. Back inside the unit, cool in summer and heated and warm in winter, is large and open plan, with the exception of the very modern bathroom. At one end of the unit is the viewing area for the very large TV which carries all free-to-air channels plus Netflix and YouTube free for guests (together with our free WiFi).
A comfortable distance from the chaise lounge for TV viewing is that very comfortable bed (so everyone says) and its convenient bedside tables, drawers and bedside lamps for easy bedtime reading. A good distance further on beyond the bed is the built-in wardrobe with plenty of storage and hanging space and just around the corner from there, the writing table and chair with two different height positions for your computer/keyboard. And just an arm’s length or so away is the quite extensive library for guests’ enjoyment.
Then you’re in the country-style kitchen with table and chairs, refrigerator/freezer, convection microwave, easy-to-use induction cooktop, capsule coffee maker (instructions in the Green Book), coffee capsules, toaster, electric kettle, tea, milk, counter-tops with large old-style porcelain sink and all the utensils, cookware and crockery you’ll need to prepare anything you’ve brought in if you’re not eating out. In the bright white modern bathroom you’ll find all the usual conveniences, plenty of counter-top space, a small stainless steel sink with tap, in addition to the mirrored vanity, and an automatic washing machine (with detergent supplied).
Guest Access:
The Rural Farmland Retreat is tucked away along a sealed farm track in a hidden valley about 3.5km northwest of Jamberoo, 10km west of Kiama, 10km south of Albion Park, 50km east of Moss Vale, and about 114km south of the New South Wales state capital, Sydney.
There’s plenty of free parking for your car only metres from the Retreat with a flat, solid connecting pathway and automatic night time illumination.
Detailed driving directions which must be carried with you because they are essential for getting to the Retreat without losing your way, will be provided after a booking is made.
The Neighborhood:
At the Retreat, you’re in a fairly secluded area (although still within mobile phone range if you are with a major provider). There are no near neighbours and no traffic, only very minimal local farm traffic along the track below.
Your closest grocery and liquor store is the IGA at Jamberoo (about 4km away) and beyond that, with most other services, in Albion Park and Kiama. The nearest major shopping mall is the Stockland Shellharbour Shopping Centre, 16km away at 211 Lake Entrance Road, Shellharbour City Centre. There are rail stations on the South Coast Line at Albion Park Rail and at Kiama.
Getting Around:
Sometimes called the Australian Riviera, the Illawarra region of NSW is one of the most beautiful places on the Planet. There are a wealth of things to do and see but you can also, of course, decide to enjoy the peace and serenity of the Retreat and its vistas.
If you do decide to explore, there are a number of guides, maps and tourist brochures available in the Retreat and you can supplement these by a visit, first off, to the Kiama Visitor Information Centre on Blowhole Point, Kiama.
No matter how long you stay, you will never run out of things to do and see in the Jamberoo, Kiama, Gerringong, Gerroa, Minnamurra, Shellharbour, Albion Park and Robertson area.
You’ll also never run out of quiet enjoyment at the Retreat either. While our policy is to always respect the privacy of our guests, we’re not far away if you can’t find help or guidance in the pages of the Green Book in the Retreat. Please make yourself familiar with all that the Green Book contains.
