Positive: This is a country house in a rural area where small hamlets/villages spot the area. It is not particularly easy to get to the property (you must have a car and you will need to use it to buy supplies) but there are many small villages within a 15-min drive that have all the essentials and more. The house is large and spacious, split in three - two independent accommodations and the owners home. The grounds of the property are large and thought out to please the lodgers, with small basketball and badminton courts, billiard pool, swimming pool, all very comfortable, illuminated and with mosquito nets. In summer it is fantastic to stay out. Each accommodation has its own gas bbq and a sturdy and spacious gazebo to protect from the sun. The house is very well equipped. The area is stunning. It is the heartland of France, with plenty of well-preserved castles of historical and architectural interest. It is also a world-class center of prehistoric sites, with the famous Lascaux caves and many others with paleolithic paintings (and without); it isn't by chance that the area hosts the French National Prehistory Museum. It also has activities for the family (escape games, canoeing). The hosts, Jan and Steve, were extremely reachable, nice and helpful.
Negative: Very little. One of the double rooms could have been a bit more spacious. The slope of the ceiling in the kitchen was a bit uncomfortable. That's all.
Summary: Excellent, affordable place from where to visit the Dordogne region or for staying in with kids.
