Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: Quiet and relaxing. Great gardeny place with lots of plants and flowers and a view to the hills across the small valley. The pool was awesome, very clean and well kept and good temperature. Nice umbrellas and chairs too. The main house had a nice enclosed first level and was very open space with an all glass window to look out. Second floor bedroom(s) and bath were nice, bit of a climb up the stairs. Our host was very welcoming and helped us with a few minor items that we needed...the Howler Monkeys provided the wake up calls and also swung by one afternoon while we were there. Drive to the Playa Grande beach is about 2 easy miles. Not a ton, but a good variety of restaurant options. Some, but not a lot of shops. Nice to be away from a lot of the busyness of Tamarindo and Playa Flamingo, but those were close enough to visit fairly easily.
Negative: Was a bit hard to find, directions could be better - turn at the restaurant that is closed, the name of the restaurant in the directions is listed in small print on the sign (the large print name on the sign is not the same), and the roughly 1 mile street/access road is somewhat rough. The road made it a bit of an adventure and was not a big deal once we located the place the first time...4WD was nice, but not essential. TV's were via Wifi, Netflix which didn't work well for us. Wi-fi was good. AC was good, nice and cool - it was hot while we were there. Could have had a few more basics
