Positive: It's a very clean apartment on the top floor of a 3 story bldg. One flight of stairs to climb to get to apt. Fantastic ocean view and balcony. You are one block from the water and a beach area (black rock beach, not sand). Great cafe/nightclub just down the hill one block for breakfast/lunch/dinner and drinks. Barreirinha Bar Café. Be aware that the cafe has an outdoor band setup that played as late as midnight during our stay. If you are a light sleeper, this might not be the best option for you. The schedule of bands playing is in the nightclub, it appears every weekend they have a band playing.
Negative: It's a downhill walk to anything we wanted to do, which means an uphill walk to get back. There is no uber on the island but a company called Bolt does have rideshare service and it's fairly cheap. Same concept as Uber. Only negative was the loud bands that played outdoors one block away. They stopped at 10:00 some nights and midnight other nights.
