Stunning villa located in the heart of Tuscany, near Volterra (25 km), between Pisa, Florence and Siena. This villa dates back to the Middle Ages, having been rebuilt on the ruins of a medieval fortress, that might even have existed since Etruscan times, and of which some remains can still be admired in the garden. Recently renovated, the villa preserves the classical features of Tuscan farmhouses with terracotta tiles, local stone and wooden beams. Here, where the stunning Tuscan landscape encounters its ancient past, you can enjoy a relaxing and peaceful holiday with all modern conveniences.
The large, furnished garden has a gazebo, ideal for your al fresco dining, a swimming pool with a lovely view (12 x 6 m, open from End of April, 250 cm deep) and large furnished deck, a barbecue, a pizza oven, a table tennis table, and also the ruins of the ancient fortress.
The house, 250 sq m, which can accommodate up to 10 people, is on two floors and thanks to its position enjoys a breath-taking view over the countryside. It is air conditioned and has underfloor heating, as well as Wi-Fi and a central audio system with hidden speakers in every room.
Ground floor: spacious living/dining room with high wooden beam ceiling, a large stone fireplace, Sat-TV, DVD player. Fully Equipped kitchen (induction stove, oven, fridge with freezer, dishwasher, toaster, kettle, American coffee machine, espresso coffee machine, kettle). One double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with shower, one twin bedroom (convertible into double), and a bathroom with shower. Laundry room. Most of the rooms on the ground floor have large French windows which open out onto the outdoor terraces, tiled with terracotta.
An inside staircase takes you from the living room to the first floor, a section of which has an open loft-like space with two double sofa beds. There is also access to an outdoor staircase and a balcony surrounding almost half of the building. On the first floor there is also a third double bedroom with an en suite bathroom with bathtub and shower head. The bedroom has a French window opening onto the balcony with a wonderful view over the surrounding hills.
The villa is located in the middle of the countryside (there are 3 km of easy, unpaved road to reach it), at 7 km from Montelopio, a little medieval village that you can reach via a typical country road crossing vineyards and olive groves, and where you can enjoy an aperitif in a peaceful place like Perbacco, or taste the typical Tuscan cuisine of Paolo’s “Cantina” restaurant.
