Stunning 3 bedrooms Villa, located in a dominant position nestled in the woods near Castelnuovo Garfagnana, it ensures maximum privacy and tranquility, with an incredible view of the surrounding mountains (Apuan Alps)
Please, consider that to reach the property there are 2 kms of dirt road.
The Villa dates back to the beginning of the 20th century, recently it has been tastefully restored, yet retaining much of the original character and traditional architectural features, combining the authentic Tuscan architecture with all the modern comforts.
This charming mansion, surrounded by a private park of 70.000 m², will allow you to take beautiful walks in the chestnut and beech forest inside the property, in an absolutely unique landscape, where you can relax reading a book, taking the sun, or eating "al fresco" in the outside veranda. The Villa is also suitable for guests who like active holidays with many exiting trekking, climbing, canyoning, rafting and horse-riding excursions. The trails adjacent to the house will bring you to explore the surrounding forests.
Villa Il Colle is the perfect solution for families, couples and groups of friends who want to spend a relaxing holiday immersed in the nature to escape the hectic city life. Pets are very welcome! The nearest towns are only 10/20 minutes away by car and there you will find most of the shops you may need during your stay.
The space:
Large and elegant 2 floors Villa, 170 m², 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, free WiFi connection, parking for up to 5 cars and wide garden with a veranda. The house is located ideally to discover all the treasures of the mountain area near Lucca, well known as Garfagnana.
This bright and large property is divided into 2 levels and it offers up to 7 sleeping accommodations for a comfortable and relaxing stay.
The first floor is composed of: 2 spacious living rooms with balcony, comfortable sofas, TV and a fireplace, a wide dining area with a table for 7 people, and a fully equipped kitchen with fireplace and a wood oven. This floor is completed by a bathroom with shower and washing machine.
On the second floor, there is a bright and large double bedroom with balcony and a private wardrobe room. On this floor there is another double room, a bedroom with 2 single beds and one spacious bathroom with bath tube. We have available one extra single bed and a baby cot that can be added in one of the rooms on this floor.
The first floor of the Villa has terracotta-tiled floor and the bedroom area on the second floor have parquet floor. All the ceilings are with beams and terracotta tiles. Each window is large and provides panoramic views of the beautiful surrounding mountains.
The panoramic terrace is furnished with chairs, table, umbrella outdoor sofas, sun chairs and a barbecue available for guests.
During the summer, the villa is fresh even in the hottest days, whereas in the winter, it is heated by an efficient GPL heating system, for a comfortable stay all over the year.
Due to the snow, the property is not rented in the coldest months (from December to February).

The neighbourhood
Villa Il Colle is only 8 km away from the Castelnuovo Garfagnana (20 minutes by car) and 5 km from Pieve Fosciana (10 minutes by car) you will have all necessary shopping destinations close by. In both villages you will find: supermarket, bakery, grocery, ATM, pharmacy, medical support, bar, post office, etc... In this area you will also find some very nice restaurants where you can enjoy a delicious typical meal (Locanda Belvedere a Sillico, Ristorante Il Pozzo a Pieve Fosciana, Pizzeria La Grotta a Chiozza).

The village of Barga, included in the list of the Most Beautiful Villages of Italy, which becomes a lively artistic-cultural center with many musical events in July and August.
The evocative medieval fortress of Verrucole, whose panorama embraces a large part of the Garfagnana, from the Apennine side of the Orecchiella Park and the Pania di Corfino, up to the Pisanino and the other peaks of the Apuan Alps.
The characteristic village of Isola Santa, in the heart of the Apuan Alps, stands on the banks of a small lake, surrounded by chestnut woods and high mountains, an enchanting place in every season of the year.
The main seaside resorts such as Viareggio, Forte dei Marmi, Lido di Camaiore and Torre del Lago are about 50 to 70 km from the property (1h 30 minutes by car).
