Positive: The good: The property is beautiful, when we first got here we found it hard to imagine ever leaving. The villa is just like the photos, and the way it’s decorated is on point. Overall you’ll be very pleased if you’re booking on the photos alone. The property owners really have a great eye for detail and really know how to make you feel like you’re in paradise. When we first arrived one of the owners greeted us and gave us the run down on how everything worked. This was a nice touch and made us feel very welcome. After a 5 hour drive from Puerto Princesa we were ready to jump in the pool and start to unwind. This is where things start to get interesting… The “bad”: The mini bar is a nice touch, but for the price point I sort of wish there were a little more complimentary treats. The only thing I am aware of that was on the house were 3 Nespresso coffee pods that were next to the coffee machine. If you want more though you’ll be paying 80php each, which is pricey for a glorified instant coffee. As soon as were got in the pool and started playing music we were hit with the smell of burning leaves and plastic. The smoke screen engulfed the entire villa to the point that it became uncomfortable, eyes and throat burning. This became the theme for the following three days and nights. Our first night there was kind of an overwhelming amount of smoke late into the evening. But for the most part it was during the day and spread out here and there. The location of the villa is sort of polarizing to its surroundings. Often times the neighbors would stare as if they basically didn’t want us there, and to be honest I get it. It’s an old suburban neighborhood out of the hustle and bustle of the main tourist areas. Having to deal with tourists here is probably the last thing they want. The road leading up to the property can get a bit rough and flooded, but our small hatchback (Toyota Wigo) managed it without a problem.
