Villa Agapui in Naxos (MHTE 1174K10000943601) Villa Agapui in Naxos is a holiday house of 160m2 on a slightly sloping hill, overlooking a beautiful bay in the Aegean Sea and the neighboring island of Paros, while surrounded by open fields. The sea view from all indoor and outdoor spaces is unobstructed and breathtaking. A road goes up the hill from the beach and ends at the villa's gate; as a result, there are no cars passing by, no noises from the road or from the neighboring villas to disturb the magical experience. The approach to the villa by car is through the villa's gate all the way to the main entrance level (located on the upper level), where the living spaces are accommodated; these include the sitting and dining room, open plan kitchen and WC. The kitchen is modern and fully equipped. The main living space opens up to a shaded outdoor sitting and dining area; it is enclosed by stone walls and provides stunning views of the sea. On the lower level, there are three bedrooms – two of them in the main building and an additional one located in a separate guesthouse. Each bedroom has its own bathroom complete with a shower. A 32 sq.m. swimming pool surrounded by a garden and outdoor seating area, is located a few steps away, just below the bedroom level. On the last lower level, beneath the one of the pool, there is a vegetable garden and fruit trees at the disposal of the guests. The villa, designed by the architect-owner for use as her holiday get away, has an air of openness and lightness, where one can relax far away from the stresses of urban life. It is built on a plot of 1800m² situated in the south western part of the island. The northeast and northwest winds, common in Cyclades, have a cooling effect, even on days with high temperatures. The island of Naxos Naxos is the biggest island of Cyclades with a long history and can offer a diversity of landscapes and experiences; green villages up the mountains, rocky dry hills near the sea, crystal clear turquoise water, numerous paths for walking and horse riding, byzantine little churches scattered everywhere, together with ancient ruins and ancient temples, museums, venetian castle-houses and a remarkable castle on top of the island's extensive historic town. One can take a cruise around the island or the nearby islands, including Paros, Mykonos and Santorini, all very easily accessible from Naxos. While Naxos is the quintessential Cycladic island, with whitewashed houses, windmills, white sandy beaches and transparent turquoise waters, it also has its very own and very special charm and personality. Additionally it is one of the few islands that produce so much of its own local food. Meals offered in tavernas and little restaurants are cooked with fresh local ingredients (including Naxos meat, vegetables, all kinds of cheese, potatoes, tomatoes, olives and wine). Beaches Going down the hill to the sea (350m road), you find the nicest beaches of the island. Even in August, when it's high season, you can reach nice little beaches and be almost alone. When the north wind is strong, you can visit Parthena's beach (5' drive), one of the two best beaches in the Cyclades where there is a sea sports complex for surfing and kite surfing, or Mikri Vigla's protected beach.
