Summer reservations must begin on Saturdays. Please read the full description below for info you'll find helpful for planning your stay. This rustic cottage offers a surprising amount of space, with an open kitchen, two living room spaces and of course plenty of windows facing the lake. Palisades Park is a rustic gated community that offers many special amenities just south of downtown South Haven. You're a quick jaunt from all of the dining and shopping South Haven has offer, or you can kick back in the unique atmosphere of Palisades Park. Palisades Park encompasses a variety of old fashioned, simple cottages built into the dunes along Lake Michigan. Winding, single lane roads through the tall trees lead to the homes that have been a part of family vacations since the turn of the century. "Vashmar" is located along Ballou Walkway, and you'll likely see neighbors walking by to enjoy the waterfront views and passing through to their own cottages. Parking is limited to the area near the soda bar. This lovely community welcomes families visiting for their first or fiftieth summer, and you can meet almost everyone at the Soda Bar. It's the place to grab a snack, connect to the wifi and plan your afternoon. Palisades Park also offers several tennis courts and a small playground. Beach fires are permitted at the sandy shoreline section just north of Vashmar. Gather here in the evening and you'll soon be introduced to all of your fun-loving, easy-going neighbors. Vashmar is not a luxury destination, but you'll be charmed by the simple, old fashioned experience. Open the windows for fresh lake breezes, kick off your shoes and enjoy! Beach access is located where Brandywine Creek empties into Lake Michigan (check out the map in satellite view). Beach conditions fluctuate each year and even seasonally. Some days there is not much beach and some days there is quite a bit of beach. Some days you will find a large amount of rocks and some days there is more sand than rocks. However, everyday you can enjoy the beautiful views from this house. There is no swimming directly in front of the house. Vashmar is stocked with plenty of items to make your visit easier. There is bath towels, hand towels, wash cloths, bath mats, and kitchen towels. Please bring your own beach towels. The kitchen is well stocked with about everything you will need during your stay.
