Summary:
This is a six bedroom Val d'Orcia villa set on the top of a hillside in the beautiful Orcia Valley and enjoying the most incredible 360 degree views over the nearby village of Pienza. Immaculately restored by the owners, this Val d'Orcia villa is a charming mix of styles creating a warm and welcoming base for a holiday in Tuscany.
The Space:
Outside, this Val d'Orcia villa is surrounded by a large garden. The aroma of herbs including rosemary and basil, lavender and wild flowers fills the area and guests are also welcome to help themselves to any fresh produce grown on site from an organic semi circular vegetable garden. There is a covered portico adjacent to the house which provides the perfect spot to enjoy dinner al fresco or to watch the sun setting over the distant hillsides. There is a heated swimming pool which is perfect for those who like to swim lengths.
Inside, guests enter into a large kitchen, fully equipped with stove, fridge / freezer, dishwasher, toaster, coffee machine and microwave. Guests can even use the grill within the fireplace. A large dining table seating up to 12 guests is positioned in front of glass doors which lead onto a spacious terrace with wonderful views.
A narrow cast iron spiral staircase leads up to a small bedroom which has a double French bed suitable for children or teenagers.
Three steps from the kitchen of this Val d'Orcia villa lead to a living room with fire place and billiard table and another three steps take guests to a small area leading to a bedroom (which can be made up as either a double or twin room) with private bathroom and shower.
To the left of the kitchen, up another three steps, there is small glassed verandah. This is a lovely spot to enjoy the peace and quiet with a good book in your hand.
There is also a second sitting room on this floor with a large fireplace, comfortable seating, shelves filled with books, stereo system, TV and DVD player adjacent to which is a second smaller kitchen with mint coloured SMEG fridge.
Finally, there is a double bedroom on this floor which can also be made up as a twin room if preferred. This enjoys direct access to the outside and has a bathroom with double shower.
The first floor of this Val d'Orcia villa is accessed by both internal and external staircases. There are three further bedrooms on this floor. All of these have double beds. Two of the rooms also have ensuite bathrooms (one with bath tub and the other with shower) whilst the third bedroom has a separate bathroom.
Please note that this Val d'Orcia villa is cleaned free of charge three times a week, once for the whole house and twice for the communal areas. Guests are also treated to a complimentary welcome dinner on arrival.
The rental rate excludes a final cleaning fee of 300 euros. Please note that there are some other additional fees payable locally. These include a air conditioning costs of 250 euros per week and heating costs when applicable of 600 euros per week. Pool heating costs 400 euros per week across July and August and 650 euros for the other months of the year that it is in use.

I love this property. It is absolutely charming and the setting is just idyllic. This really is picture postcard Tuscany, with sweeping rolling hills and not another property in sight apart from a distant solitary home. Furnished with elegance and beauty, it oozes character but also has superb facilities on site to keep everyone entertained. Highly recommended!
