Positive: Pros: - The location is amazing. Centrally located, but very quiet because you enter from the courtyard that does not face the street. There is a metro stop immediately outside the front door, and it is a short walk (< 10 minutes) to Gare St Lazare for SCNF trains and other metro lines. - There is amazing CENTRAL AC in the bedrooms upstairs. We were super comfortable in a week-long 100deg F heat wave. - The hosts are very responsive! When the power went out during the heat wave, I got a call back within minutes and the solution was easy as the breaker box was in the kitchen and clearly labeled. - The unit has been remodeled and has new / modern appliances. There is a toaster, kettle, nespresso machine, microwave, induction stove, oven, and dishwasher. There was even a vacuum cleaner. Even though the washing machine abuts a bedroom, we did not hear anything and were able to sleep through the long wash cycles. - The hosts provided everything! Shampoo, conditioner, hand wash, laundry pods, linens, dish soap, dishwasher pods, nespresso pods, salt, cooking oil, sugar for coffee, etc.
Negative: I would say that the only things you have to be aware of are: - The photos of the downstairs are slightly deceptive, it's not as big as it looks. If you open the sofa bed downstairs, you won't be able to walk to the door without banging into it. Just be aware that this apartment is very comfortable for 4 people, but would be extremely cramped for 6. - The stairs going upstairs are extremely steep, almost like a ladder. I climbed it on all fours because that's how steep it was. If you have any mobility issues, this is not the apartment for you. - As I previously mentioned, you enter from an uncovered, exterior courtyard, which means that you WILL track dirt and grime in that would have normally been left in interior hallways or sth. The floor downstairs was noticeably dirty when we arrived, but it was sparkling after a supplemental cleaning (complementary since we were staying 2 weeks). - There is a washer, but I could not figure out if it was a combo unit with a dryer -- fortunately, the hosts provided a full size drying rack. With the AC blowing all day, a load of laundry hung up in the morning was dry by bedtime.
Summary: Great location watch out for the stairs.
