Originally a fishing village from the early 1950s... This house is one of five homes on a 5 acre lot surrounded by nature and resting quietly on Lake Olivia. Having weathered many storms over the years, this home is a testament to what it is like to live as a true Floridian... simple, cozy, and one with nature... sometimes, LOTS of nature!
So, when booking, please be mindful of the reality that you may encounter some wild birds, insects, reptiles, and amphibians, and maybe even some mammals along the way... Welcome to Florida :)
About the Hosts:
Matt and Nirvana are an entrepreneurial couple from separate coasts of the United States (Los Angeles and Philadelphia). Having traveled the world and become well versed in various cultures, they have a shared passion for creating spaces that make you feel warmly welcomed and creatively inspired!
While Nirvana pursues a career at Walt Disney World, Matt is a professional musician. They currently rent three homes in Orlando, Florida as an additional passion project and have given incredible amounts of time, energy, resources, and care to be able to welcome guests from around the world.
Hopefully you will be next to experience Orlando with them in this quiet, comfortable, and GREAT location within the city!
The entire bungalow and backyard is yours to use as you wish, in accordance with the house rules. Access to the surrounding bungalows is not allowed unless booked.
We live in one of the houses on the lot and will be available for whatever you may need. Just call or text!
A highly sought after place to live, Windermere, FL is steeped in a rich history that helps give the town its modern charm. Founded in 1887, Windermere prides itself on many of its historical sites. It is arguably the most affluent, clean, and safe neighborhoods in all of Orlando. With tree-lined streets, lake views, and all the local shops that one can need... you are sure to have an unforgettable time!
Note: The lot next to us is under residential construction. Sometimes it can be noisy between the hours of 8 AM and 5 PM outside of the home. It is barely audible when inside the home. Please keep in mind before booking.
If you are not renting a car, your best bet is Lyft or Uber as the Lynx does not run within walking distance of this property.
We are also happy to offer transportation from your bus stop or airport for a small additional cost of $40. Please note this when booking!
Please Note: As of March 2022, the lot next door is undergoing new home construction at unspecified days of the week. While it has created an even better view of the lake, it can sound loud and active during the day. There is unfortunately nothing we can do about this. Although the sound is not very audible from inside the home, please keep this in mind before booking.
Parties are not allowed anywhere on or within the property. Unfortunately it is an increased liability and we simply do not have the space for it.
There is a maximum number of 6 guests allowed for your reservation. NO additional guests beyond the number you had booked are allowed on the property at anytime. This is a quiet residential neighborhood that will not tolerate the traffic and noise.
We live in a separate bungalow on the property and while we offer total space and privacy, we are available for anything you might need. Just call or send a message :)
This home is wheelchair accessible! We do recommend for you to purchase or bring your own bathtub chair for health and safety reasons.
PLEASE NOTE: The photos in the listing were professionally taken by an Airbnb Photographer and make the house appear larger and newer. While it has been recently painted and updated, please keep in mind that the house is an old historic Florida home from the 1950s! While the size of these older homes are generally quite minimal, we do believe that this is PERFECT for 2 guests... cozy and fun for 2 couples, and will be much more intimate with 6 adults. You can absolutely squeeze and save, but there will be a compromise on space and privacy during your stay. Please keep this in mind as far as expectations go BEFORE you book! Overall, our previous guests have generally loved the old-Florida style home!
Both televisions are provided with HDMI cables and an Amazon Firestick, but NO CABLE TV! Please bring your computer, video game console, or streaming device if you wish to connect your device to stream on either TV!
NOTE: This is a very natural and historic property that uses well water. Therefore, the water will very rarely have a taste and smell that is higher in mineral content than city water (such as sulfur and iron). The smell can be unpleasant for some guests. However, it is 100% safe to use and we have the water professionally tested once every three months for safety. Please be mindful before booking if this is not for you.
Please park only in the driveway and/or carport. There is a (2) car limit per stay.
Smoking is allowed, but outside only please.
Smoking is totally allowed, but OUTSIDE ONLY. Please use the Ashtray on the outdoor patio.
Underage drinking is not allowed.
Please refrain from any loud music, conversation, or any sound that can disturb the neighbors while occupying, entering, or exiting the property. Noise curfew is 10 PM ET.
If you plan to have additional guests, you must notify us (the hosts) in advance and permission is not guaranteed. If permission is granted and guests are planning to stay the night, there is an additional cost of $15 per guest, per night.
Please turn off Lights, and electronics when not in use and especially when checking out as a means to save energy, protect the environment, and cut costs.
Be sure to turn off the outdoor patio light and the light on the front door when not in use as a means to reduce attracting unwanted pests and insects.
During windy and stormy weather please avoid being outdoors as much as possible to avoid being struck by fallen tree branches and debris.
