A beautiful character cottage with beams and a woodburning stove set within the Ashdown Forest, Twyford Farm Cottage is a delightful countryside retreat located on a working farm. There are comfortable sofas in the lounge with the large inglenook fireplace at the centre this then leads to the dining room with patio doors to the outside area. There are three bedrooms perfect for a family or a small group looking to explore the Sussex Weald. One bedroom, with a king size double bed, is easily accessible on the ground floor and has its own ensuite shower room. On the first floor there is another king size double bedroom and a twin bedded room and an additional shower room. Outside there are fantastic views of the surrounding farm and countryside and there is a lovely terrace area with a BBQ and a large exterior table perfect for summer dining. Please note that due to the age and character of the building there are low beams. A charge of £25.00 per stay or per week, whichever is shorter, will be made for each dog (guide dogs for the blind and registered assistance dogs excepted). Please let us know if you will be bringing a dog with you. This property will accept a maximum of two dogs. Horsted Keynes and beyond Twyford Farm Cottage lies to the north of Horsted Keynes village and is set in a beautiful rolling landscape of the Sussex Weald. It is set within easy reach of many local attractions including the world renowned Bluebell Railway whose steam trains travel along approximately twelve miles passing through some of the most picturesque Sussex countryside that you will find. The railway station is next to Sheffield Park where the stunning gardens were designed by Capability Brown. It is a short trip to the Ashdown Forest which stretches over 1400 acres and was made famous by the stories about Pooh Bear. The forest offers extensive bridleways for both walkers and cyclists with magnificent views that draw the eye south and south east towards the South Downs. Also close by are Wakehurst Place and Standen which are both National Trust properties and well worth the visit.
