• Beaches
∙ Gialiskari: It is located on the north side of the island, 2 km east of Mandraki, on the way to Palous. Sometimes the color of the sand is white because of a pumice mining company that existed in the area and was also known as the "white coast". Now she's got her dark sand again.
∙ Lyes: The beach starts about 3 km after Palus and is located on the northeastern side of the island, from the point where it ends the asphalt road. The length of the beach exceeds 1.5 km. In some places there are pebbles, but the largest area is covered by a dark sandy beach.
∙ Pali: The long beach of the village, with sand, pebbles and trees, is divided into the beaches Katsouni, Lia and Pachia Ammos. The beach is a nice and extensive sandy beach with lots of trees. The sand in and out of the sea is very fine with large pebbles that keep the shallow waters. It evolves into a tourist resort but still keeps its peace.
∙ Pachia Ammos: It is located on the eastern side, about 10 km from Mandraki. A very long beach of about 350 meters. It’s sand is particularly coarse and dark. One should walk about 10 minutes on a relatively inaccessible path to pass behind the high hills that hide the beach.
Hohlaki: The beach is the closest part of Chora. It was named after the large and smooth pebbles located in and out of the sea. At one end of the beach there is a balcony on the rocks and some trees and shrubs on the back.
► Sightseeings
• The Castle of the Knights of Agios Ioannis is located in Mandraki, built on a rock at an altitude of 150 meters. This castle is a memorial of the passage from the island of the Knights of St. John, who in 1315 created here a magnificent castle that stands up to today mansion and monument. Inside the castle is the Monastery of Panagia Spiliani which is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and is the patron saint of the island. The monastery is celebrated on August 15, when a big feast is being held.
• The monastery of Panagia Spiliani is built on the top of a hill, in the northwest of Mandraki. Around the monastery are retained sections of a wall of Paleokastro, while the same is protected by the "Castle of the Knights of Rhodes" built by the Knights of St. John in the early 14th century. Most of the monastery is housed in a natural cavernous cavity. The cave is divided into two temples. The north is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and the south to Saint Charalambos.
• Paleokastro is the acropolis, classical period, of the ancient city. It’s in a very good condition because of its high quality construction for experts one of the finest fortifications of antiquity, basilicus undesite, one of the toughest rocks in the world. The main gate consists of well carved boulders with absolute application of the tangential surfaces. The total length of the fortification is very large, since it encloses the entire land part of the rocky hill above the southern tip of Mandraki. The total length of the fortification is very large.

It consists of volcanic rocks, with blasts of volumes created by old volcanic actions. The various types of rocks (basalt, asdesites, dakites, rhyolites, etc.) have been used for the construction of various buildings such as Paleokastro and St Belfry John the Theologian outside Nikia.
• The Folklore Museum includes folk art items, mostly utilitarian, photographs, Nyssuri's souvenirs, embroidery and one traditional Aisrian cuisine. In recent years, it has been unified with the Folk Art Museum of the island and is housed in the house of Irene Patrikis opposite the Potamitissa temple, the Mandraki Cathedral.
• Volcano museam: The Museum is located in Nikia, enjoying a privileged position on the caldera's lips, offering a panoramic view of the interior the caldera and the volcano. In this traditional settlement there was an abandoned school which was restored by the relevant program and today hosts the Museum, after the appropriate restorations and arrangements in the building. The Museum gives life to the settlement and contributes to the general development of the island's tourism by providing the infrastructure for the development of yet another form of alternative tourism.
• Gyali island is a volcanic Greek island in the Dodecanese, located halfway between the south coast of Kos (Kardamaina) and Nisyros.
