2 Bedroom Cabin in Culbone, Porlock
This captivating beehive cottage dates back to 1866 when built as an estate workers cottage. It is now part of a family run farm and sits in it’s own grounds at the end of a private lane. It has been renovated throughout to make it very usable and yet it has lost none of its cosy comfort. Yarner Farm Cottage sits at the head of the beautiful Worthy Coombe and has stunning views to Porlock Bay and beyond. The cottage is centrally heated throughout and has a wood burner in the living room. Logs and Kindling are provided free of Charge. There are two bedrooms; one twin and one double. The cottage sleeps 4 comfortably. Along with the bath/shower room, everything is on the same level with disabled access into the building. The Kitchen is Modern and well resourced. Outside is a spacious garden with picnic table and BBQ area, all surrounded by fields of Exmoor Horn sheep and Ruby Red Devon cattle. These fields lead on to beautiful, peaceful woodland walks and the cottage is is just minutes, through the fields, from the South West Coast Path. The cottage is a short distance from the rugged beauty of Exmoor's open moorland, perfect for walking, cycling, bird watching etc. And within easy distance of both the picturesque village of Porlock and the historic towns of Lynton and Lynmouth. Culbone church (the smallest church in England) is two miles through Culbone wood in one direction while the Culbone Inn is two miles in the other. History permeates this landscape and Coleridge is reported to have written Kubla Khan at Ash Farm, next door, which is farmed along with Yearnor by The Richards Family. Dogs are very welcome (small charge applies). Linen and towels are provided free of charge. From November to mid March we do offer shorter breaks at 2 weeks notice.
