15 Bedroom House in Saranac Lake

Three trees Camp is the perfect location for a family or group to experience true Adirondack life on Upper Saranac Lake, one of the premier lakes in the Adirondacks. These available weeks would be ideal for group gatherings, outdoor sports enthusiasts or business conference and retreats. Three Trees Camp is located on an 8-acre secluded parcel at the end of a three-mile shared driveway with the closest house 1/2 mile away. It is situated on a narrow peninsula on the north end of Upper Saranac Lake, called Markham Point, and is surrounded almost completely by water. On the south side a large, shallow sand-bottomed swimming cove, suitable for young children as well as adults. To the north is the camp boathouse and swim raft. Several docks on both sides provide seating for easy conversation or quiet relaxation. Down by the water, visitors often hear the early morning loons, or spot one of our newly-rehabilitated bald eagles. It is an ideal getaway for an extended family or large group. This is the first time in several years that time has become available. The property has six separate sleeping cabins, a main house with two bedrooms, an annex with two bedrooms, two small private cabins, a medium-sized family cabin, a newly renovated kitchen and dining room building, a utility building, a recreation cabin (with a bar), a sleeping lean-to and an enclosed boathouse. There are beds for 26 people (see listing below) some with shared baths. The general atmosphere of the camp is rustic, cozy and inviting. It is simple yet offers all the conveniences of daily vacation living. Since the buildings are mostly all separate, families may enjoy their own space without noise and intrusions. The camp’s unique charm is its privacy. It truly offers a sanctuary from the stresses of everyday life. Visitors have easy access to outdoor recreation, including boating (canoes and kayaks provided), swimming, fishing, walking. There is even an on-site full clay tennis court that is maintained yearly. You can relax, exercise or socialize—it is all here. The historic village of Saranac Lake is 20 minutes from camp, where guests can find additional events and local shopping. Boat rentals are also available in this area which can be delivered to the launch ramp at camp. Lake Placid, the town known for hosting two winter Olympics, is 35 minutes from camp and has a larger selection of great restaurants and Adirondack shops to visit. MEALS Guests provide their own meals. The camp has a full-size chef's kitchen with an 8-burner gas range, two gas ovens, 3 refrigerators, 1 freezer, microwave, counter-top oven, commercial coffee maker, blenders and all utensils and dishware. There are plates and utensils for over 30 people. The kitchen table will seat 10-12. The dinner meal is usually eaten on the covered front porch of the Main House, which can accommodate up to 30 people for dinner. There is an additional outdoor gas cooking grill on the porch off the dining/kitchen building. To the West of the kitchen is an outdoor stone cooking pit with seating for 10-12 people, an incredible place to spend nights cooking s'mores or breakfasts cooking pancakes. AMENITIES The property features a huge variety of amenity options for guests, including a competition-sized clay tennis court, a lighted horseshoe pit, several kayaks and canoes, a recreation cabin with a bar, a foosball table, a ping-pong table, a sandbox for the kids, an outdoor cook pit and an authentic Adirondack-style lean-to (with fire pit). Throughout the property, there are countless areas to gather and retreat. To the north side there is boathouse, dock and all of the canoe/kayak/watersports storage. If guests choose to rent boats they may be docked in the boathouse here. The water is deeper here yet still shallow along the shore. The dock area is ideal for reading quietly, fishing or swimming in the protected bay. There is another floating raft on this side. The southside has an elevated wooden dock for sitting and a ramp for water access. The area has a shallow sandy bottom extending for the length of the bay which is protected from motorized watercraft. A raft is anchored within easy distance from shore. There is a sandbox and seating area as well, making this area ideal for youngsters and babies. The prevailing sun is on this side. Off the southside of the kitchen/dining building is an intimate deck overlooking the South bay of the lake. The Main House has an additional, much larger porch with an unobstructed view down the South end of the lake. The large community table and hanging antique porch swings on this porch make it a popular area to gather at the end of the day as a group for cocktails or meals. To the westside is another secluded point with a pair of Adirondack chairs. Nearby this area is a small 30-foot cliff (with a protective railing), a perfect place to watch the sun coming down over neighboring Green Island. ENTERTAINMENT There is no wi-fi or TV service, but cell reception for all carriers is available. In the Main House, there is a game closet, filled with stacks of family games and jigsaw puzzles. Several of the cabins are stocked with additional books, games, and magazines. The towns of Saranac Lake, Tupper Lake, Lake Placid, and the surrounding area offer many restaurants, theaters, shops, golf courses, and award-winning museums.
