Our casita is an 800 square foot house with an open floor plan, behind the gates of our one acre garden just steps from the Caribbean. It's has one Queen sized bed in a private master and two single sized sleeping sofas, all Tempurpedic mattresses. There is a large bath with shower and a mural that gives the casita it's name. With a fully equipped kitchen there is a dining area that seats four. No need for air conditioning since it is shaded by a huge rubber tree and there are four ceiling fans. A library of 150 movie DVDs, flat screenTV, internet and Direct TV service fill in the quiet, down time. With a front porch that overlooks the gardens, there is a walkway up to the pool, a large, shallow-to-deep end pool with waterfalls. Across the road just a couple of hundred yards is an accessible dock to the sea where the diving and snorkeling is fantastic, one of several hundred dive spots surrounding the island. Our property has bananas, limes, mangos, coconuts, pineapples and more on the way, all nestled in among scores of large palms and hibiscus. Our garden is a horticulture lovers delight, all thanks to our gardner Phillip. We have inflatable kayaks for use and beginning in the fall of 2018 we will offer wheel thrown pottery lessons. The best unspoiled beach on the island is twenty minutes farther East. We have restaurants and bars but this is not the touristy West End. It's quiet, perfect for water sports without crowds and the expats are all lively, getting together weekly for live music and a good time. On Sundays we invite our guests to sit by the pool and indulge in one of Matt's homemade popovers!
