Positive: A beautifully refurbished townhouse above a shop front. Very spacious rooms with wonderful high ceilings - the photos don't do it justice! Great location, right on the high street in the centre of town. Fully equipped kitchen (salt, pepper,oil, tea, coffee, sugar). Comfortable beds. Very clean. The street has restrictions so you can unload the car after 6pm. The nearest carpark is by Sainsbury's 6 min walk away.
Negative: Unfortunately the single pane sash windows (planning restriction?) leave in a lot of street noise, delivery vans at 5am & Abbey bells chime literally every 15mins so pack ear plugs! Be aware that this is someone's home, so the cupboards, freezer & fridge were busy with their own food - so limited space if you are a full party of 6 looking to do self catering and the fridge is very small. While the antique wardrobes and rustic bedside tables look charming, some were quite rickety and unstable, so personally I wouldn't recommend for anyone with very young or very lively children. There's also a lot of stairs for anyone with mobility issues.
Summary: Beautiful, clean & spacious but pack your earplugs!
