Originally constructed in 1894 by stonemason Robert Stanley, this registered historic landmark has undergone meticulous renovations while preserving its grandeur. With three floors of exquisitely designed living spaces, a standalone 1 bed/1 bath casita in the rear, and a sprawling lawn perfect for reenacting your favorite duels at high noon.
Original stone walls? Absolutely. Gorgeous woodwork throughout? Indeed. Updated kitchen and bathrooms? Yes, please! The charm of handcrafted stairs, a mahogany library, and clawfoot tubs from yesteryear beautifully coexists with modern conveniences like high-end appliances, spacious tiled baths, marble showers, and 24 double-hung windows offering stunning views and changing light throughout the day.
The primary home features four bedrooms and three bathrooms. On the upper level, you'll find a bedroom with a king-size bed and an adjoining living area with two twin beds. The second bedroom is located on the main floor, boasting a king bed and a trundle bed. The third and fourth bedrooms are downstairs, with one featuring a queen bed and the other a queen sleeper sofa.
For a one-of-a-kind experience, the fifth room is nestled in a charming cabin on the patio, complete with a queen bed and a full bathroom.
Moreover, it's just two blocks west of the South Congress entertainment district (did somebody say Torchy's?), as well as major Austin attractions. An authentic Texas experience this close to downtown is hard to come by. Registered as both a city and state landmark, The Stanley's contemporary upgrades offer you the best of both worlds.
You can bring up to 2 dogs, but their combined weight cannot exceed 60 pounds. Breed restrictions apply. We charge a $25 per pet/per night fee, and a separate pet rental agreement must be signed when bringing your furry friend. Apologies to cat people, dogs only.
