As you arrive at the aptly-named SANDBOX, due to its imposing shape, modern architecture and proximity to the beautiful, white sandy beaches, you will pleased to hear the deep lull of the ocean and the smell of the salty, sea air.
The SANDBOX is a unique, modern beach house with décor which reflects a modern twist on retro styling. Nestled amongst tea trees and bordered by nature reserves, plus the stunning views to sand dunes, it is a gentle reminder that you are bordered by a beautiful expanse of ocean and beaches.
This large open plan and architecturally-designed home will easily accommodate families and couples. The SANDBOX provides guests with multiple outdoor entertaining options. It's interior has a light-filled living area and there are beautiful outlooks from every window as it sits proudly nestled into the hillside to make the most of the views. Open all the windows for a stream of ocean breezes and floods of sunlight on Summer days and light the fire for warm, cosy nights in Winter.
Unique to The Sandbox is its observation deck with stunning views to Cape Liptrap Coastal Park, the nature reserves and even Wilson’s Promontory. As the SANDBOX is embraced by native flora, you are assured of wildlife encounters. With regular visits from wombats, ringtail possums, koalas and even our resident marsupial who lives in a burrow under the large trunk of a banksia tree, it will help to make your stay a wonderful experience.

What to do:
-Walk to the beach; swim, surf, kayak, the choices are endless.
-Go fishing from the any of the many fishing pontoons along the Tarwin River or from the beach itself, renowned for salmon.
-Pack your bikes and use the many purpose-built tracks including the Great Southern Rail Trail. On some days, the vastness of the sand at Venus Bay means you can even ride along the beach!
-Unplug but reconnect....we have purposefully not purchased a television nor wifi to completely disconnect from it all. We hope that you enjoy the opportunity to disengage from your busy schedules.
-There are many opportunities for bushwalks from Point Smythe Coastal Park to Wilson’s Prom.
-Bird watching (Venus Bay is home to several endangered, shore birds including the Hooded Plover). There are some binoculars and a bird guide for you to enjoy.
-Choose from our many board games and books.
-In the colder months, use the fireplace and enjoy a glass of wine from one of the local wineries.
-Relax on the daybed or hammock.
-Local cafes, coffee shops, shopping and a pub are only 5 minutes away or should you wish there are further afield if you feel like a picturesque drive to Inverloch, Koonwarra, Fish Creek and Meeniyan.
-Visit the stunning Walkerville beach and historic Lime Kilns or world-renowned Wilson’s Promontory.
