A quiet and serene birder's paradise where there are frequent bald eagle sightings, red tailed hawks, blue heron, snowy egrets, cormorants, mallard ducks and a variety of visiting birds year-round at our feeder.
Perhaps you'll watch the historic sloop Clearwater set sail, see one of the local riverboats, private yachts, fellow kayakers or one of the many barges or tugboats that pass by. The Port of Albany and New York Harbor are the destinations of many of the vessels we see on the river. For those who want to spend their time on the river, bring along your own kayak or canoe, follow the path down to the water, and you're off to experiencing this mighty Hudson River in a most intimate and unforgettable way. You'll see our local Kingston and Esopus Lighthouses that are just to the north and south of us, the Kingston- Rhinecliff Bridge is also a nice excursion, nesting herons and cormorants are nearby and passing trains and historic estates will bring you back in time.
