Positive: Wow! I was not expecting the peace, tranquillity and totally relaxing stay that I had at the Old Vicarage. To add to that the room and facilities were perfect as was the lovely Host, Nicola. Very welcoming and a room upgrade which was unexpected and appreciated. I really liked the breakfast idea: muesli, fruit, orange juice and my favourite yoghurt. The in-room fridge also contained fresh milk and a bottle of water. The fresh milk was also welcomed as a perfect accompaniment for the ground cafetiere coffee. Let’s not forget the further homely touches –fresh flowers (sweet peas) and cakes (chocolate cupcakes). I spent the evening relaxing by the window admiring the view whilst watching TV – instead of doing the next weeks work prep which I’d planned. And, surprisingly for me, I was asleep as soon as my head touched the pillow. Unheard of in decades! I had just one regret whilst driving home the next evening – that I’d not booked for two nights. This I will surely do if I need to visit the area again. Thank you Nicola, sharing your home – it was a privilege.
