The Old Post Office is a Grade II listed building just across the road from the Coalbrookdale museums and just up the road from Ironbridge. It is right in the heart of the World Heritage Site and makes a perfect base from which to explore the seat of the Industrial Revolution and the Ironbridge Gorge. *****If you would like to stay for 5 or 6 nights, please contact me for a price***** TECH The Wi-Fi is fast and free! Watch TV online on the smart TV or log into your Netflix. There is an Xbox with games to keep the youngsters amused. The area is popular with walkers and cyclists and there are a number of great walks on the doorstep. There is a secure cycle shed at the back of the house. If you don't fancy driving (or walking) there is a bus stop right outside where you can catch a bus to Ironbridge or go into Telford to do some shopping or visit the large town park. FACILITIES & COMFORT We have refurbished the house with comfort as our main priority. It is particularly suitable for families with children. Why not start the day by walking the little ones to Enginuity just 2 minutes away -if you have the Museums pass it's all free for a year. We include a travel cot and a high chair and there is a selection of DVDs, games and books for all ages. DOWNSTAIRS At the front the sitting room is the old post office with the large shop window making it light and cheerful with a restful view of trees opposite. There are two large sofas to relax on, a smart TV and a log burner for the colder days. The dining room has been recently -redecorated in the William Morris style with period furniture and a high chair for little ones. The modern fitted kitchen has an oven and induction hob, fridge freezer, washer/dryer and a good supply of cookware. UPSTAIRS all the beds have have memory foam toppers & linen is provided. The large L-shaped landing provides space for an antique desk and a variety of local prints on the walls. The large double bedroom at the front has an antique style brass, kingsize bed, a wardrobe and chest of drawers. The second bedroom has 3ft bunk beds and a wardrobe & drawers providing plenty of clothes storage for two people. A large modern bathroom with electric shower other the bath completes the upstairs rooms. OUTSIDE There is plenty of on-street parking outside. The house has no garden but there is a small terrace area outside the kitchen with a small table and two chairs for a glass of something in the sunshine or a cup of coffee (or a cigarette). NEARBY..... 3 minute walk to The Museum of Iron. 3 minute walk to Enginuity (interactive museum for children). 2 minute walk to nearest pub. 5 minute walk to children's play park. 15 minute walk into Ironbridge, the museum of the Gorge & nearest shop (Co-op with car parking, and pay a visit to the antique centre behind it) Ironbridge has plenty of excellent cafe's and restaurants so you've no need to cook if you'd rather not. 5 miles to Telford -the nearest large town- which has many shopping opportunities and a large town park with a fantastic play area, crazy golf and picturesque ponds and landscaping. 16 miles to Shrewsbury, one of England's finest medieval market towns and home to the fictional Brother Cadfael. The Museums use a passport ticket system, which on their website says.... ''The Annual Passport Ticket represents fantastic value. It allows unlimited daytime admission to all 10 Ironbridge Gorge Museums, during normal opening hours, so you can return as often as you like for one year. If after 12 months you have still not visited particular sites, you can return at any time in the future to make one free visit to the sites that you've missed'' PLEASE NOTE The Old Post Office is on the road to Ironbridge. With the bus stop right outside please expect some traffic noise. There are five steep steps up from the pavement to the house. Please consider this if you have impaired mobility.
