The Old Band Room is a traditional Cotswold stone property, sympathetically restored with a wealth of character features and an interesting history, having once been used to practice in by the military bands of the surrounding villages. The cottage is located in the heart of the popular and picturesque village of Naunton, which is set well away from busy roads and benefits from a good village pub, a golf course and many beautiful walks straight from the doorstep. The market town of Stow-on-the-Wold and the village of Bourton-on-the-Water are both within six miles, with their wide range of pubs, shops, supermarkets and restaurants. Naunton is also within easy reach of many tourist destinations, including Oxford, Blenheim Palace and Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare. The cottage has lots of traditional character, including oak beams, wooden floors and exposed Cotswold stone walls. Complementing these character features are modern facilities, including ultra-fast broadband, underfloor heating in the downstairs areas and three Freeview TVs (two with DVD players) as well as a well presented kitchen with Nespresso coffee maker. The Old Band Room sleeps a maximum of five people (4 adults and 1 child under 12), in three bedrooms with two bathrooms. There is a lovely garden just across the bridle path from the cottage, which sits on the river Windrush that runs through the village, and quiet, on street parking is available close to the cottage. The Old Band Room is perfect for families or small groups of friends looking for a peaceful break in the heart of the beautiful Cotswolds. House Rules Booking and payment Character Cottages is a marketing agency and we do not own any of the cottages listed on our website. We manage a proportion of cottages within our portfolio and the remaining properties are managed by a third party property manager or the property owner – your pre-arrival email will contain confirmation and contact details for your property manager. Bookings made via us form a legal agreement directly between you and the property owner. For bookings commencing more than 10 weeks in advance, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking. The balance payment is then due 10 weeks prior to arrival. All payments are made subject to the cancellation policy set out in the standard Booking Conditions. Security deposits Security deposits are not required at The Old Band Room. Please note that guests are still liable for any damage or additional cleaning required as a result of their actions. Occupancy The maximum occupancy of the property is four adults and one child under 12, at any point during your stay. Unauthorised over occupancy is a breach of our terms and conditions and may result in the cancellation of your booking and additional charges. Please consult us prior to booking if you wish to discuss the possibility of having more than five guests at the property. Infants who sleep in a cot do not count towards the occupancy figure, however, due to space restrictions, the occupancy figure may only be exceeded by one additional infant. Pets One small dog (no larger than a Cocker Spaniel, unless agreed with the owner) is accepted, at a cost of £20 per booking. For the comfort of future guests, we ask that dogs remain downstairs, stay off the furniture and that no trace of a dog remains after your departure. Please note that the patio garden is not accessed directly from the cottage, it is across the bridle path at the front of the property. Open countryside is available at the end of the bridle path, however dogs should be kept on a lead if livestock is in the fields. Bed linen and towels Bed linen and towels are provided for guests. Arrival and departure times Arrival time is after 4pm and departure time is by 10am. Access is via a key safe, therefore it does not matter if you are arriving late at night. This is a small bedroom, only suitable for children under 12. There is no telephone at the property. Mobile phone reception is generally OK, however, this cannot be guaranteed. Parking Quiet, on street parking is available, close to the property. Housekeeping Where a letting exceeds nine nights, a mid-stay clean, bed linen and towel change may be included in the price. Please check with us to confirm. Additional housekeeping services may be available on request. Child friendly facilities A travel cot (without linen), high chair and safety gate are provided. The property's patio garden is located across the bridle path in front of the cottage. Please note that the garden leads directly to the River Windrush, which is approximately 20-30cm deep. Children and dogs should be supervised at all times in the garden. Smoking No smoking or vaping is permitted throughout the property. Hen, Stag and other same sex groups Unfortunately, Hen, Stag and other same sex groups are not allowed at The Old Band Room. Please note that same sex family groups are welcome.
