Meadow Lane Farm has belonged to the same family since pre-World War II and has served as a family and fisherman's favorite vacation destination for years. The farm consists of 1400 acres of open meadows, shady forests, breathtaking vistas and over two and ½ private miles of The Jackson River, Virginia's finest trout river. A stay at Meadow Lane Farm is an outdoor enthusiast's oasis with miles of trails for hiking and mountain biking and exclusive river access for the fly-fisherman of all skill levels. The Lodge, formerly offered by the room as a Bed & Breakfast, is now available as a single family lodge that can sleep up to 10! Be among the first to call The Lodge your home away from home. The main level offers spacious comfortable gathering areas with cozy gas wood stoves, dining room, fully stocked kitchen and a deep covered front porch - now with dining table for outdoor covered dining! The front living room has two seating areas - one on each end with cozy gas fireplaces and a flat-screen SMART TV outfitted with ROKU and ability to log in to your own personal premium streaming services. There are two bedrooms on the main floor - one with a king bed and another with two twin beds - each with their own private bath. A small den off the kind bedroom is a nice quiet place to read a book or catch a nap! Upstairs there are two additional bedrooms - both with access to the balcony porch overlooking the beautiful view of the meadows and farm. The Alice Fortune Suite, named for a favorite family caretaker, has a king bed with a sitting room and full bath. The Boola Suite, named after the Yale University fight song, has a queen bed and full bath. The fifth bedroom is The Loft, with a private outside entrance off of the kitchen side porch or from the dining room. This cozy room has a queen bed and private bath. Fly-fishing is open to all guests for catch and release. There are no additional rod fees. The river will be stocked twice, once in the spring and fall. No spin rods, please. In addition to fishing, guests have access to the tennis court, outdoor pool (Memorial Day through Labor Day), miles of hiking trails, the barnyard animals, opportunities for wildlife viewing from "The Deck" overlooking the Slough Wildlife Sanctuary where deer, fox, bald eagles and other birds and the occasional bear call home.
