This meticulously decorated Little Lakehouse is a cozy retreat for those who prefer a more airy aesthetic than the usual lakeside cabin. This family cottage has all the creature comforts (like AC), and modern Scandanavian decor. The great outdoors can be enjoyed from adirondack chairs on the deck, playing cornhole, splashing from the private dock, out on our kayaks/SUPs, or from any room in this comfy lakeside abode.
The Space:
Enjoy the misty morning with a cup of coffee on the deck, watching otters play from your perch in the pines. As the noon sun clears the mist, and sunshine sparkles off the crystal clear water below, take the rock-steps down to the water, where you can dip your toes in, as stoats and deer peek put of the trees of Brown's island across the way... and don't forget to look up! Bald eagles, osprey, great blue herons, terns and even the occasional owl have been spotted from the deck.
(we've seen all of the above in early spring & late fall, when things are even quieter).
Our Little Lakehouse is nestled into a private hillside, and features expansive views of Charleston Lake. Recently updated and freshly decorated, the open concept floorplan and vaulted ceilings make this cottage a truly unique stay.
The versatile layout features two private bedrooms on the main floor; one with a double bed, and one with a queen-sized bed. The middle bedroom has all the creature comforts for a tiny human, including crib, change table, high chair & stroller. The second-level loft features a queen-sized bed, offering a bit of privacy from the living room below, but still open to the main living space. The crow's nest views of the water from this perch are fantastic, but the wide-angle view of big waters from the living room & outdoor deck is truly stunning.
The fully stocked kitchen has a glass-top stove, microwave hood-fan, fridge with freezer, as well as UV treated, sediment filtered & potable tap water, and an additional Reverse Osmosis drinking water tap. Since we also use this as our family cottage, you can anticipate all the kitchen necessities & extras!
This home can comfortably accommodate up to 4 adults and 2 kids, with optional nursery room & infant amenities (such as crib, change table & high chair) available. 6 adults are also permitted, but any guests over 6 are not.

Pet access
With the exception of service animals, pets are not allowed at this property (even hypoallergenic).
If bringing a service animal, it is the expectation the pet accompanies the owner at all times and can not be left at the property alone. Costs associated with damages caused by a pet will be pursued and are not included in the pet fee/cleaning fee. An additional cleaning fee to cover the removal of pet dander from the property will apply.

Our quiet cottage is at a dead end of a private road, in a quiet community of friendly neighbours. If you need to venture out in the world, you're only 10 minutes to the village of Athens with two fully stocked village grocery stores, an LCBO, hardware store, cafe, European market, and more! If you need a little more excitement, the City of Brockville is only 30 minutes away, with all the big box stores, movie theatre, restaurants & tourist attractions (like the Aquatarium at Tall Ship's Landing)... a great outing if it's raining!
Also nearby: Lakeline Lodge & Marina boat/canoe/kayak/SUP rentals, Charleston Lake Provincial Park (canoe/kayak rentals), beaches, Tincap berry farm (for berry picking) and Farm Fresh Eggs on almost every corner!

Watercraft
On that note-- Canoes, Kayaks, SUPs, and boats can be rented from Lakeline Lodge & Marina (10 minutes away) or non-motorized watercraft can be rented from Charleston Lake Provincial Park, only a 20 minute drive away.
Take a day trip and explore their sandy beaches & pine-swept, rocky islands. Or, if you have your own equipment, there is excellent paddling around Brown's island and west towards Foster's Bay/Warren Cove, which is peppered with islands--just past Sand Bay County Park Beach, with is silky, sandy-bottomed swimming area. Rent a pontoon for the day (you'll want at least a day) and boot around all the wonderful islands of Charleston Lake.
