Our house is located at the NW corner of the Bywater, one block from the Marigny and five from the Mississippi. We live in the back of the house. The front two rooms and bathroom of this recently renovated 1850's classic New Orleans shotgun make up the private apartment. There is a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker, in lieu of a kitchen. French doors open to a gated courtyard where you are welcome to lounge and entertain. The house is on Rampart St at Press St, the border between the Bywater and Marigny, which is an industrial strip with an active, sporadic rail. This means that we are ideally situated in both neighborhoods and also that we hear our lovely train at odd hours. It's charming, but at times loud. We're a short walk to amazing restaurants, bars, coffee shops, thrift stores, art galleries and parks. Frenchman St is about seven blocks away and the French Quarter is ten. Renting bikes is a great option for seeing the city (we can recommend a good rental place if this is of interest) or if you prefer to rent a car there is always available parking right out front. The Bywater really is a magical place from which to explore the rest of the city. Feel free to send word if you have questions. We'd love to have you!
