The Lake House is located on beautiful Mirror Lake just south of the Buckhorn Restaurant and 200 yards east of Trail#7. The Lake House is available year round. The Cottage has WI-FI and DIRECTV. Hiking, snowmobiling, hunting, fishing , snowshoeing, cross country ski trails, and Horseback trailheads and trails are all available close by. Mirror Lake is a spring fed Trout Lake and is locally known for its clean water and is great for swimming. The Lake House on Mirror Lake is located on pristine, 37 acre Mirror Lake; 1800 square feet vacation home located on 1.5 acres in the Hiawatha National Forest, and has 100 ft of lake frontage, 3 bedrooms, 1-1/2 bathrooms. We provide a starter supply of paper products for your convenience. Because of Covid 19 we will no longer be able to have blankets and spreads on the beds as they are just too hard to clean between guests. There will be some smaller throws available to your use. So sorry for the blanket inconvenience. The beds will have clean sheets and pillows with cases. There are towels and washcloths supplied for your use. The kitchen is fully stocked -just bring your own food. Mirror Lake area is so picturesque, rustic and woodsy; The Lake House has all the comforts of home in this new vacation rental. Enjoy excellent swimming in the spring fed led, with a hard sand bottom, fishing in the fishing boat or kayaking with 2 kayaks, all included for you to enjoy nature. A large fire pit for roasting marshmallows in the evening. Lots of room for kids and adults to run around and play frisbee, tag and just be with each other. This is a nice area for walking the 2 track roads and exploring several lakes in the area. Gorgeous in the fall! Included: fishing boat, 2 kayaks and life jackets. satellite tv, wifi and a place of your own to create memories to take back home with you. Fish species: Brook Trout, Brown Trout, Splake, but primarily Rainbow Trout which is stocked yearly. Fishing license is required. The cottage is ON the Trail for Snowmobiling and ATVing from the house! The Buckhorn Restaurant is just down the road for dinner and a few drinks. be sure to visit our sister cottage, Oak Ridge Cottage on Mirror Lake, for your spring, summer and fall trip! We do welcome pets that are well behaved and stay off the furniture. We charge an extra $100 cleaning fee for pets. We also ask that they stay outside if they have been in the water until they are fairly dry. If you are coming up to ride your horses, The Oakwood Trail system is just down the road and provides an 11-mile horseback riding trail through a variety of forest types from oak to maple to pine. The terrain is mostly flat with occasional gentle hills. Through cooperative arrangement, the route is signed and maintained by the North Coast Riding Club. Trail markers are red, and locator maps are posted at trail intersections.
