The Wasatch Mountain Lodge is owned and operated by the Wasatch Mountain Club Foundation, a nonprofit, charitable 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the preservation of this unique building . 100% of the rental fees you pay goes for preservation and maintenance of this historic site. The rustic log structure, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was built by the Wasatch Mountain Club in 1929 as a base for overnight stays and adventures in the mountains. The Wasatch Mountain Club Lodge has beds to accommodate up to 20 people. Beds have mattresses with covers, but no bedding is provided. Guests must bring their own pillows, bedding, or sleeping bags. The main floor of the Lodge, which features a large stone fireplace, can accommodate parties of up to 100 people and is ideal for large gatherings, parties, receptions, family reunions, and winter ski trips. Folding banquet tables and folding chairs for approximately 85 people are provided free of charge. An outdoor patio with tables, benches, and a barbecue area is available for summer use. SUMMER: An unpaved road connects the Lodge with the Brighton Ski Resort parking lot. WINTER: There is no motorized winter access to the Lodge. All guests must carry their belongings and food to the Lodge from the Brighton Ski Resort parking lot or transport it using sleds that the Lodge provides. The distance is about 100 yards. The Lodge combines the best of a truly rustic experience with modern features thrown in. The building is heated by a combination of hot-water heating, a forced air furnace in the main room, and a large wood-burning fireplace. (A bundle of firewood is supplied free of charge, with more available for purchase.)
