The Historic Laurelwood Mansion | House in Visalia

Previously featured in House Digest and Zillow Gone Wild, you now have the opportunity to experience Laurelwood Mansion in Visalia, California! A combination of the Madonna Inn, Disney's Haunted Mansion, and the famous Playboy Mansion, Laurelwood's unique design is perfect for Disney fans, adventurous guests, history buffs, photographers, and for hosting small events. Custom stained glass, architectural features from across the world, and finishes and furnishings from the turn of the century, this incredible property is truly a one-of-a-kind masterpiece.
The Space
This two story masterpiece is truly a work of art pieced together by it's original owner and builder, the front is a copy of the train station in downtown Disney, and the exterior is modeled after Disnleyland's Haunted Mansion. The exterior brick was collected from all over Tulare County, while the lamp posts, statues, and various yard pieces were brought in from all over the world.
Inside the home is like nothing you've ever seen. The kitchen features a diner style booth and 1920's soda fountain bar from nearby Exeter. The kitchen BBQ is a turn of the century parlor stove from Amsterdam that has been converted into a bbq so you can grill in any weather. The black turn of the century stove is from the Midwest, and still functions. The kitchen also features modern amenities: coffee maker, microwave, and other appliances.
Each room has a different theme. The fireplace, fire pole, and spiral staircase are from a firehouse in London. All the ceiling panels, multiple fixtures, toilets, and bath tubs are from a swanky San Francisco hotel. Stained glass can be seen in every room- some of it collected, some of it custom made for the house. The sunken conversation pit around the main level fireplace is a replica of the Playboy Mansion. The bedrooms each have a different theme selected by the most recent homeowner, adding to the eclectic vibrancy of the home.

We suggest you use your own vehicle, but it is located in a walkable and bikeable neighborhood in Visalia, Ca.
The Neighborhood
Located in the Southeast corner of the Beverly Glen neighborhood of Visalia, this iconic home was built in 1931. Easy access to Highway 198 provides easy access to surrounding cities, nearby national parks, and a multitude of nearby wedding venues. The neighborhood is quiet, close to lively downtown Visalia, the Kaweah Health hospital, College of the Sequoias, and everything Visalia has to offer.

Important to Note:
There's a spiral staircase and a fire pole leading up to the second story game room, which is dangerous for young children. This is an old, custom mansion built in 1931 and it has many quirks.
House Rules
1. Communication is key! Check in after 4pm. Check out by 11am. Our office hours are between 8am-9pm, so please communicate between those hours and let us know if you plan to arrive after 9pm. Please let us know if anything is needed so we can help you out right away.
2. Honesty is the best policy! Max occupancy is 8, and we believe 6 adults and 2 older kids/teens would be most comfortable since two beds are bunks. Let us know about ALL guests who will be coming to the house. Pets are not allowed. All extra guests must be approved.
3. No unapproved parties! Please respect Laurelwood as if it's your own. No smoking of any kind inside. Removal of smoke detectors is illegal. Loud music, excessive rowdiness, excessive drinking, smoking, destruction of property, etc. will result in a $1,000+ party fine. Quiet hours are from 10pm to 7am. To host an event on the grounds, please reach out to us so we can further discuss the details.
4. Please drive slowly in the neighborhood. Park in the gated driveway or along the street. The neighbors are all long terms tenants and homeowners.
5. Have fun! This is a unique experience and we hope to host unique guests! Each piece of furniture, each architectural feature, and each finish was hand picked and collected, and can't be easily replaced, so please be sure to be careful. This is also why pets are not allowed.
