Set on a 22 acre secluded modern mountain estate, The Glass Cabin is perfect for a special occasion or a relaxing escape. Enjoy the serenity, fresh air, flowers and fauna of the mountains by taking a stroll/run on our half mile path, practice yoga, have a picnic at several scenic spots and relax at our sandy beach by the creek. The space The Glass Cabin is located on the top level of the guest house which has a spacious private balcony overlooking one of two ponds and the tops of the bamboo trees which grow up through the deck grates. Enjoy breakfast in the cool morning air and cook a delightful grilled dinner for a romantic evening under the stars. * Property was designed by Atlanta architects Scogin & Elam. The guest house won an American Institute of Architects award and the property has been in 45 publications. * Wet bar inside with microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee maker. * Large ensuite bathroom * We provide coffee, tea, sugar, milk, butter & honey. * Outdoor kitchen containing, gas grill, small refrigerator, two burner electric cooktop, prep table and most cooking tools & pans that you will need. We are pretty well stocked. * Fire pit on balcony - free firewood * Wheeled ice chest * We are on well water - it is filtered, clean & delicious. * Bocce, croquet & badminton sets available for your use. * It is a good idea to bring, closed toe shoes, rain gear and light jackets/sweaters. It can get cool in the evenings and early mornings even in the height of the summer. Guest access With the exception of our residence which includes The Mountain House, The Pond House, the attached patio's/decks you are free to roam the property. We have a path which measures about half a mile - great for walking or jogging. There are 5 picnic tables placed around the property two of which are at the beach by the creek. Two Adirondack chairs & a charcoal grill are at the beach. There is a rough path across the creek which passes the Hambidge barn and takes you to the Hambidge Grist Mill (1st Saturday of the month they are open until 1 PM for demonstrations and you can purchase fresh ground grits!). There are three meadows ( 2 large, 1 small) great to practice yoga or play games which we provide... bocce, croquet & badminton set. Walk across the street and plunge into a swimming hole along Betty's Creek or cast your line in to catch some trout. Other things to note There is a long ramp with a slight slope leading to the Glass Cabin.
