The Evergreen is packed with modern comforts and amenities. We have thoughtfully equipped both the inside and the outside of the house with everything you need for a perfect escape, whether it's via hiking, cooking, skiing, lounging, stargazing, playing, or all of the above.
The 2,600 sq ft house was hand-built in 1991, and it was a total joy to update in 2019. We wanted to maintain some of the fun original details, such as the colorful carpeting throughout, the 1960s soaking tub in the master bathroom, and some of the original cabinetry.
Here are some of our favorite features:
The cozy kitchen is equipped with energy-efficient stainless steel appliances and everything else you need to cook a delicious meal. The breakfast nook is a great additional food-prep space, kids' table, and also perfect for coffee in the morning.
The grand fireplace in the great room will make your stay feel especially cozy, as you hang out by the fire on our large and super-comfy L-shaped couch, or gather at the large dining table for meals and games.
The master suite is set apart from the rest of the house, with a balcony, a private ensuite bathroom, which features a 1960s heart-shaped soaking tub, and a Peloton bike (including access to our membership).
Need to sneak away and work for a few quiet moments? Our second king bedroom has a desk, and the house has truly lightening-fast internet (between 200-300 mbps download and 75-150 mbps upload). The house is equipped with an internet mesh system, so you can rest assured the internet is blazing from every corner of the house. You you can also play music on the G-suite hubs via our Evergreen Spotify account, or use them as Bluetooth devices for your own favorite playlists.
The third bedroom has two twin beds which can be semi-converted into a king-size bed if needed. Linens are provided for either configuration.
The house also features a loft above the garage—the bunkhouse, as we call it— which is a getaway of its own, with two twin-over-full bunkbeds. There's no shortage of entertainment in the bunkhouse. We have a swiveling smart TV, Google home speaker, a Wii, a dance pad, a magnetic dartboard, puzzles, board games, books, and even an electric drum kit for bringing those rock & roll fantasies to life. The bunkhouse shares a breezeway with its own bathroom. It's the perfect space for kids of any age. ;) Just beware, the kids might want to stay up there for hours on end. We may or may not know this from experience....
Stargazing in the outdoor hot tub is a perfect finale to your ski or hiking day, or any day for that matter.
As for the warmer months, we’ve put just as much attention into the outdoor spaces of the house as we have the inside. There’s plenty of dining and lounge seating on the patio and a large grill for al-fresco dining.
The small backyard features a hand-built fire pit with tons of seating and a ninja course for the kiddos. The surrounding 3-acre wooded lot provides room to explore its winding creeks and is a perfect setting for a game of hide and seek.
A rocking glider for two sits along the side of the house, where you can relax with a cup of coffee and take in the sights and sounds of the mountains. There, on a quiet morning or at dusk, you can often catch sight of deer. And there are no shortage of adorable chipmunks to watch while you listen to the birds sing.

PLEASE NOTE: kindly locates our home on the border between Windham/Maplecrest and Hunter, because we are equidistant between the two ski resorts. The map makes the house look closer to the actual ski resort than it is. We are a short drive—not walking distance—from each ski resort.
