A carefully converted Derbyshire stone barn offering unique accommodation set on the banks of picturesque Carsington Water close to the Peak District. The cottage enjoys peace and tranquillity being situated on a quiet no through road which forms part of the 8 mile circular lakeside walk/cycle track. The cottage has fantastic views over the lake, spacious interior with comfortable furnishings and its own private patio with garden furniture and BBQ facilities perfect for taking in the fantastic views over the lake. Our cottage is a 10 minute walk from the village of Kirk Ireton with village shop, school, church and public house. There's myriad of things to do when staying in The Croft, including a circular walk/cycle ride around the lake, a trip to Alton Towers and Carsington Visitor Centre which offers a wide range of land and water based activities with an RYA recognised water sports centre, cycle hire, restaurant, shops and an adventure playground.

Summary: 14 of us stayed at The Croft to celebrate my friends Hen Do. The house was in a very clean condition on arrival, and we were even greeted by some wine and snacks, which was a lovely touch. The kitchen diner area is really great for entertaining, and the lounge was spacious and cosy. The views over the lake were beautiful, especially while enjoying breakfast out on the patio. We went down to the lake to do a canoeing and raft building session, which was great fun. A couple of the girls were hoping to join us later but struggled to get a taxi, so the owner kindly offered to take them, which was so kind. Nothing was too much trouble. We'd highly recommend staying at The Croft.
