The Cottage at Peavine Hollow Farm is a completely renovated, two-story cottage that sits in woodsy area on a working farm of Angora goats on 40 acres in Free Union. Please note that the last mile and and a half will be on gravel roads. The Cottage is 20-30 minutes from Charlottesville (University of Virginia), Crozet , Ivy, White Hall, Greenwood and Earlysville (Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport) with easy access to the Shenandoah National Park and Skyline Drive. The first floor living room has a stone fireplace looks out onto the farm and rolling hills. The dining area with cushioned window seat seats up to eight people comfortably and looks out onto a woodsy setting. The kitchen has granite countertops with stone floor and backsplash. The kitchen is equipped with Slate GE Profile appliances including a gas cooktop. There is a washer/dryer on site. Laundry detergent, spot remover and dryer sheets are provided. The first floor bedroom has a queen, pillow-top bed with ensuite bathroom with glass-doored shower. Molton Brown toiletries are included. The bedroom has glass doors leading to a private balcony overlooking the side yard which has a couple of herb gardens for your cooking pleasure. The balcony has a table and two chairs and a gas grill. The upstairs bedroom has two twin beds. The glass doors off the bedroom lead to a private balcony with a table and two chairs. It is a great place to sit in the evening and gaze upon the stars. There is a bathroom with a glass-doomed shower. Both bathrooms are equipped with communal size Molton Brown toiletries and very soft, Turkish towels. There is a loft area that is set up as an office for those folks who need to combine business with pleasure. There are complimentary business supplies provided. The WiFi is wireless and there is a landline with unlimited local and business calls. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, silverware, glasses (including wine and sherry) and pots and pans. Also, a blender, crock pot, panini press and broiler pan.There is a spice and herb cabinet well stocked with the usual accoutrements needed for cooking. Olive oil, salt and pepper, ketchup and mustard are also provided. The coffee service includes a coffee grinder, French Press, coffee beans from a local roaster, sugar, Splenda, coffee mate and creamers. Fresh flowers on the dining room table, baked goods and local Gouda cheese will greet you upon your arrival. There is guest book with suggestions for local hikes and restaurants.There is a local innkeeper nearby available for any assistance. Pets are allowed with an additional $25 cleaning fee.
