Primrose Cabin | The Cabins at Kenai Lake! Alaska-Real-Simple

1 Bedroom Cabin in Primrose, Seward

This is the REAL Thing! An Alaskan recreational cabin located in the heart of the Kenai Peninsula. Off the Grid, No electricity, No cell service, hand pump well water, propane lights, and wood stove for heat. We have a Wild and Remote feel! But we're just moments from the Seward Highway (one of the top rated National Scenic Byways) and 19 miles north of Seward. Most likely you won't want to leave, just chill at the deck fireplace in the steamer chairs, sip your coffee or wine, BBQ some steaks, be.... But if you do have a hankering for adventure- fishing charters out of Seward, the Seward Sealife Center, the world famous Kenai and Russian rivers, historic Hope, white water rafting the six mile river, scenic floatplane rides, stunning historic trail hikes, and fabulous berry picking are all at your fingertips within 30 minutes or less.. If you are familiar with the forest service cabins all over Alaska and the US west you know the drill. We've just taken it to the next level of comfort! Wood provided! Scenes for Free! The soundtrack is lapping waves, float plane flybys, the Alaska Railroad 2 times a day through the property, and our resident eagle ( she sounds like a big chicken!) The toilet facilities are an outhouse and bathing can be done at the lakefront sauna. Just like the old sourdoughs.... Swimming and Sauna use are at your Own Risk- the lake is COLD! It is a melted Glacier after all.... We could tell you much more, but reading through the recently filled cabin journal we are humbled by the generosity and effort prior guests have made to uniquely express their opinions and experiences. The following are direct quotes lifted from the pages of "Chenega Cabin Journal #1" "We can't say enough about this cabin- everything you need is here! Our kids loved the loft, hot tub, and deck! Wonderfully beautiful spot- loved it for the scenery, coziness, functionality, simplicity and quiet. Feels like we're the only people on the whole lake!" "We had a great time living a rustic life & tramping around the forest here... the sun never seemed to go to bed!" "Not enough pages in this book to say all there is to say about this cabin and its surroundings. Our honeymoon was magic from the second we set foot inside." "Time here makes you reconsider your priorities. It makes you realize things you need that you'd forgotten about: the sound of nothing but wind; the breezy dash of rainwater on your face as you're warmly nestled under a blanket outside, reading by the fireplace; curious little critters popping their little heads up; the sound of a crackling fire; the stark beauty of standing alone on a dock in/above alpine waters... ...Our time here was too short. But it was the reset we needed. This place sets the bar. Thank you." "If only we could have stayed longer! This cabin you've built is absolutely beautiful. We could not have imagined a more amazing way to spend our honeymoon. Everything about our stay was perfect from deck fires to skinny dip sauna runs!" "We stayed 3 nights. Only complaint is that we didn't stay longer. My boyfriend and I booked this in the middle of our "Alaskan Adventure". I am used to staying in 5 star hotels and was very apprehensive to say the least. I LOVED IT!!! We enjoyed ourselves immensely here. Thank you so much for creating such a wonderful experience and sharing it! We will be back." "Great rustic cabin, real remote feel. Loved the five-star spa-banja, hot tub, and lake!" "I must say this is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to. Every morning I would wake up with dappled sunlight showering on my face. I would go outside and listen to the water lapping on the shore. The trees would whisper with the wind and birds would sing in the distance. The forest floor was covered in thick and lush greenery. Glens of moss make nice napping places :) I saw Canadian geese, ducks, thrushes, and eagles... At night little bats flittering around... I sat on a log and saw some very small little fish... The tranquility of this place was astounding" "This place is truely amazing, I'm glad I could be a part of this." "This is the second time we've stayed here and it's one of our favorite places in Alaska. Jan has pretty much thought of everything here! We can't evangelize using the hot sauna WITH the cold lake enough! We've never felt cleaner in our life. Take a few drinks to the mudroom and crack a window!" "Skipping stones, fishing from the dock, rowing a boat and identifying wildflowers..." "Nice to go to sleep listening to water lapping against the dock" "Another amazing stay here! Thank you!" "Thank you Chenega cabin. Thank you for reminding me how to pause, take a breath, and live." (We are 4 cabins located on 15 acres at the headwaters of the Kenai River! Check out our other listings!
