The Bunkhouse at Tailem Bend is the former Railway Barracks, build to provide accommodation for single men working for the railways in the 1960’s and 1970’s. Having recently undergone a complete renovation, The Bunkhouse now provides modern, group accommodation for guests With a high end fit out, including high quality new furniture and mattresses, and contemporary finishes, The Bunkhouse is ideal for medium to large groups. The property features two bedroom wings, with the spacious, shared zones in the centre. The fully equipped communal kitchen is a delight, and includes a 900mm chef’s oven, dishwasher, microwaves and two fridge/freezer’s, along with all crockery, cutlery, glassware and cooking requirements. This area also has communal dining tables and a large screen TV. The lounge area features comfortable leather sofas, TV and further dining options. Outside, the entertaining area is complete with a wall mounted flat screen TV, bar tables and BBQ’s. The separate men’s and ladies showers and toilets are also centrally located, and feature modern finishes such as marble tiles and terrazzo floors. With 4 family bedrooms and 18 double rooms, The Bunkhouse can sleep up to 44 guests (twin share), with additional sofa beds and bunks by negotiation. Two of the family rooms contain one king bed and one topper bunk, and the other two rooms contain one king bed and one sofa bed. All other 18 rooms contain double beds. Every room has its own flat screen TV, split system air conditioning and bar fridge. The property has parking for several cars and is located in a quiet street. The Bunkhouse is just a five minute drive from the The Bend SA Motorsport Park, and in the centre of the unique Coorong, Lower Lakes and River Murray region. No smoking. No pets.
