Welcome to The Birds' Nest @ Currarong! This is our family holiday house owned by three lovely ladies that have been holidaying in Currarong for nearly 50 years. Currarong is a beautiful coastal town that provides an escape from the city with all local activities within walking distance like a choice of beautiful beaches for swimming and walking, the local shop for takeaway & essentials, the sporting club for a meal and a drink and many National parks for nature walks, relaxing and sightseeing. You can watch sunset over water from the upstairs balcony or down at Dolphin Park - amazing considering this is the East coast! Enjoy your break relaxing at home or discovering the local area. Check out our reviews on Google from friends that have rented our house previously - The Birds' Nest @ Currarong About the space: The Birds' Nest is a 2 level, sunny weatherboard house only 300m from the main beach and shop in Currarong. It has 3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms and 2 Living rooms. The house suits 2 families with 4-6 kids or 1 family holidaying with the grandparents. We now have wifi for our guests use. The Ground Floor you enter from the side, has an open living space, a well equipped kitchen with terrific bench space, a large dining table to seat 10, and a lounge room with a TV, and space to relax. The backyard is all visible from here. The internal laundry has a new front loader washing machine and a separate spacious bathroom with a shower and toilet. There is 1 bedroom on the ground floor with 2 King Single Beds and a large wardrobe for your belongings. Upstairs is the main bedroom with a queen sized bed and a walk in robe. The “kids” bedroom has 2 sets of bunks - so 4 single beds and another large cupboard . There is also a second bathroom with a shower and toilet. Relax in the second living room with a huge smart TV, DVD Player and SNES for some retro fun. There is a comfortable pull out sofa bed for up to 2 extra people. Relax on the upstairs balcony with water glimpses where you can watch the colourful sunsets each evening. The house sleeps 8 in the 3 bedrooms and can extend to another 2 people on the upstairs pull out couch for an additional cost person per night. Please let us know if you wish to take this up. Bedlinen is included, but NOT towels - you will need to bring towels yourself for the bathrooms. There is a Bathmat and Hand towel provided for each bathroom. Please note there is no bath in the house. The back yard has access from the downstairs living room and laundry ,with a paved area with 2 tables and seating for 10 covered by a large shade cloth. There is a new Ziggy BBQ for your outdoor cooking and space for outdoor games - we have Totem Tennis and Bocce. There is a cold water shower out back to wash off the beach. The backyard is secure with gates on each side. There is room for 2 cars in the driveway parked tandem style. Extras available on request: * Highchair * Portacot with Linen * Shower Chair * Pull out bed - (Max 2 people) * Pets-Small dog upon request Currarong Delights: Currarong Beach is a 300m walk to the creek that you cross to walk or swim over to the main beach depending on the tide. Dolphin Park is just before the creek and has tables and chairs to enjoy the view and a park for the kids. Elliot Reserve is also a 300m walk and has another playground for kids, and behind the park is a Basketball Court and a Skate Bowl for those that want more action. Currarong Rock Pools are a 550m walk and a great place to swim and snorkel. Abrahams Bosom Beach is just 200m past the Rock Pools and a family favourite for young kids to swim and explore. Beyond Abrahams Bosom beach is a terrific bush walk out to Whale Point, Wilsons Beach and Lobster Bay. It's 5km round trip from Bosom Beach. Zac’s Place in front of Dolphin Park has a small grocery store for essentials and alcohol, delicious takeaway and a great choice of icecreams. Open from 8am each day. 300m walk. Currarong Bowling and Recreation Club has a Bar and Bistro. 500m Walk Beecroft Weapons Range is a wonderful National Park, owned by the Defense Force and is open to the public on weekends and Summer Holidays. Discover the Jervis Bay from the Northern Headland where you can visit Point Perpendicular, Honeymoon Bay, Long Beach and Cabbage Tree Beach. There are bush walks throughout the range as well. Culburra is a 20 minute drive and has Woolworths and various shops and cafes along with River front and Beaches Greenwell Point is a 25 minute drive and definitely worth a visit to Pelican Rocks for amazing Fish and Chips and Calamari. Also the Oysters sold direct to the public are delicious in season! Callala Bay is a 15 minute drive and has an IGA and some shops for your everyday needs along with a beautiful white sand beach equally pretty as Hyams Beach - all on the Jervis Bay. Huskisson is a 35 minute drive and has many Restaurants, Cafe’s and sightseeing tours. Nowra is the big town nearby and only a 30 minute drive away with all the big name retailers, a Hospital and many other services you may need.
