This barndominium is located on 30 private acres of field and forest in beautiful southwest Michigan! The vacation rental consists of the entire second floor of the barndominium, with the first floor just used for storage of the property owner's equipment. There is also a third floor loft that provides additional sleeping space. The barndominium was just recently built after the current owners bought the property, demolished the older existing home that was on the property, and built new. This vacation rental consists of 2 gorgeous bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a lovely open space kitchen, living room, and dining area, a laundry room (with washer and dryer), and a third floor loft. The kitchen has all modern stainless steel appliances including a refrigerator, electric range (stovetop and oven), dishwasher, and microwave oven. The barndominium has a forced-air propane furnace for heat, air conditioning for cooling in the summer, and it has both satellite WiFi and satellite television. There is also a fun foosball table next to the living room. The vacation rental sleeps 4 in bedrooms (one bedroom has a queen-size bed and the other has a full-size bed). There is also a single bed in the third-floor loft as well as a air mattress that sleeps 1 person. Thus, in total the barndominium sleeps 6 adults comfortably (and we do limit the capacity to 6 people). Sitting on 30 private acres of countryside and forest, there are a fun collection of trails on the property that are available for hiking, riding on ATVs, snowmobiling, or cross-country skiing. Please note that use of the property owners' equipment is prohibited and, if using your own ATVs and/or snowmobiles on the trails, we do require guests to sign a liability waiver. There is also a great customized bonfire ring on the property with adirondack chairs provided. This allows for great times with friends and family while making and eating s'mores or just relaxing around the fire together! The cottage is located outside of the cute little town on Coloma, Michigan, which has a charming little small-town downtown area with shops, restaurants, bars, and a historic movie theater, The Loma Theatre. A large, historic, and very popular inland lake, Paw Paw Lake, is also in Coloma and is just 3 miles from this vacation home! This vacation home is in Berrien County in the extreme southwest corner of Michigan. The barndominium is also perfectly situated to explore southwest Michigan in that it is just a 21-minute drive from the vacation rental to downtown Saint Joseph, Michigan, which features a lovely historic downtown with many fine shops, cafes, and restaurants as well as nationally famous Silver Beach on Lake Michigan, which is rated as one of the top family beaches in the USA. The Saint Joseph River, the second largest river in Michigan, flows right next to Saint Joseph as well before it empties into Lake Michigan. While Saint Joseph is to the southwest of this vacation rental home, to the northwest is another regional treasure, the hip and fun beach town of South Haven, Michigan. Downtown South Haven is also just a 21-minute drive from the vacation property. Whereas Saint Joseph is a little more historic and family-family, South Haven is a bit more trendy, hip, and "beach party oriented". It has a large collection of cool and hip shops, restaurants, bars, and night clubs in its beautiful downtown area where the Black River empties into Lake Michigan. South Haven also features North Beach on Lake Michigan just north of the river as well as South Beach on Lake Michigan just south of the river. If bigger-city attractions are desired, the barndominium is just a 45-minute drive from Kalamazoo, Michigan (to the east) and a 70-minute drive from Grand Rapids, Michigan (to the northeast). Both of these cities offer a wonderful array of cultural attractions, museums, nightlife, and dining and shopping alternatives. The area is also rich in fruit farming, vineyards, and wine production and fresh fruit, vineyard tours, wine tours, farmers markets, and fresh fruit stands exist throughout southwest Michigan, with some dependence upon the time of year. The natural beach beauty of Grand Mere State Park is only a 25-minute drive from this vacation property and Warren Dunes State Park is only a 36-minute drive from the property. For additional wintertime fun via downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, and/or snowboarding, the barndominium is just a 48-minute drive from Timber Ridge Ski Area and just a 55-minute drive from Bittersweet Resort. The vacation rental home truly provides both the opportunity to getaway to peace, quiet, and nature, while still being perfectly positioned to explore all that southwest Michigan has to offer!
