The Barn - On Cockatoo Lane | Bed & Breakfast in Sandy Creek

1 Bedroom Bed & Breakfast in Sandy Creek
Nestled among the towering river red gums sits The Barn – On Cockatoo Lane. Drive through the gates, step out the car and breath deep, this place invites you disconnect and relax. These are acres to be enjoyed in peaceful solitude, only interrupted by the quiet of kangaroos and birdsong. The Barn itself was built with comfort in mind, simple luxury at its heart. Let it welcome you and work its magic. Located in the Southern Barossa, close to all the activities the Barossa Valley has to offer. The Barn is a repurposed farm building, rebuilt from the ground up. Where work horses were once tethered to tree stumps set in the concrete, now sits a new build, leaning into the history of this place but with all the modern comforts. The tall ceilings, beams, paved floor and steel windows all evoke an industrial farm feel but the red gum surfaces (made lovingly with a tree felled on the property), soft furnishings and natural colours give it a warm and calm feel. The Barn includes a spacious king sized bedroom, 3 way bathroom – with double vanity, walk in shower and soaking tub, an open plan living, dining and kitchen. There is also an expansive deck for outdoor dining and relaxing. The kitchen in amply appointed and allows you to be part of the conversations if cooking. The dining includes an 8 seater table. Perfect for a bridal brunch or special dinner. On Cockatoo Lane is owned by chefs and has a commercial kitchen onsite. We are happy to help you out with meal prep boxes or intimate catering for occasions, confirmed before your stay. Looking to explore the Barossa? We back onto the Sandy Creek golf course and are bordered by the Jack Bobridge bike path. Within a short drive you can be in world class wineries and restaurants or enjoying the artisan small towns shops, markets and makers. We love our part of the world and are happy to make recommendations for truly memorable visits during your stay. We also have a small and bespoke drinks list (available for purchase with our liquor license, moderately priced to encourage you to try and then visit their cellar doors and establishments), remarkable producers that you may end up amongst your favourites. Keys are accessed from a secure lock box. We suggest arriving from Barossa Valley Way, the lane leading to The Barn is mostly bitumen from this way but you will need to cover 20 metres of unsealed road. The Barn is on a rural property and has a gravel driveway. The entrance is via the deck and includes a short flight of stairs. The Barn is not accessible via public transport. There is very little in walking distance but the town of Lyndoch is 5 minute drive away. Tanunda and Seppeltfield are 15 minutes drive, Nuriootpa and Eden Valley 25 minutes drive and Angaston under half an hour. For larger shops and amenities Gawler is 10 minutes away. Owners are contactable via phone, email or through air bnb throughout your stay. Please don't hesitate to reach out. We aren't far away. The Barn – On Cockatoo Lane is best for couples. We encourage newborn escapes (babies up to 6 months) and may be able to accommodate other guests by application (there is a sofa bed with maid of honour or best man the night before a wedding in mind). Pets are not allowed. We do not have suitable fencing or facilities. On Cockatoo Lane is owned by chefs, with 5 star accommodation background and memorable event experience. There is a commercial kitchen onsite so there may be occasional cooking smells and activity close by, but we think you’ll hardly notice us. If you do see us, feel free to pop in and have a chat, We have a commercial coffee machine and barista experience, happy to make you a coffee. We are starting a production garden and an orchard. Please feel free to wander and explore. Our flock of chickens (The Spice Girls – Cinnamon, Cumin, Nutmeg, Ginger, Fennel and Pepper) are all friendly and happy to have a cuddle if you want to visit the coop. A gourmet breakfast box, with a focus on local producers, is included with every stay. We also include locally roasted coffee, tea, dried citrus, sea salt, pepper mill and olive oil. The Barn – On Cockatoo Lane is a rural stay, if you require groceries, they will require a short drive, or you can order one of our meal prep boxes, including fully prepared meals to warm on arrival. We allow visitors (up to 6) during your stay but please note they need to leave by midnight. We can recommend accommodation close by, some even in walking distance. Special, bespoke events are a passion of ours, reach out if you want to discuss, these are by approval. Any over 8 people require at least 3 months notice, as required by our local council.
