The Arthaus is a newly constructed cottage with an open floor design accommodating 1 or 2 individuals. It is situated at the edge of the woods in a serene environment about 100 feet from the main house which is also of new construction. This modern structure was owner designed, featuring high ceilings and an open floor plan. Art adorns the walls throughout, most of which was created by the owner, a recognized Maine artist. The owners are on premise in the main house, available for any questions or assistance during your stay. The location of the property is central to the island, located on what is referred as the "quiet side" of MDI. Most of the villages are less than 15 minutes from the property by car. While most visitors rent a car, the island explorer bus service can be had at the end of Parker Farm Road where it meets RT102. Swimming in nearby Echo Lake or Long Pond is just 5 minutes or so away. Hiking trails are nearby at Beech, Acadia and St Sauveur Mountains. Please write if you have further questions. We think MDI is a very special and unique place and our property of woods, meadow and a view of Somes Harbor will hopefully be a relaxing retreat. Please note: Available only monthly during June/July 2020. A state mandate requires all out of state guests to self quarantine for 14 days due to COVID19.
