2 Bedroom House in Miramar Beach
Unit 3 at Blue Surf, now named "St. Somewhere" is a 1,500 sq. ft. townhouse that we purchased in Dec. 2015. An extensive remodel (Phase 1) was completed in February 2016. Phase 2 was the remodeling of the downstairs bathroom completed in February 2018. Phase 3 of the remodel which included gutting the kitchen and master bathroom was completed in September 2018.
There are two dedicated parking spaces just outside the front door. So, unlike a high rise or many other complexes, your two parking spaces are reserved for you just outside your front door. That means, since we are within 100 or so steps to the beach, and are in close proximity to restaurants and many local attractions, once you arrive, you only have to drive your car if you choose.
Just park at your front door and step into the newly remodeled kitchen with stainless appliance and a quartz counter top. There is a wall mounted flat screen television. The kitchen is furnished with dishes, coffee pots (Keurig and regular brew...you will need to provide filters and coffee), crockpots, pans, skillets and utensils. You are responsible for providing your dish and laundry detergent, toilet paper, napkins, paper towels, bath soap, dish soap, etc. You will be given a limited "starter supply" of some items. Convenience and grocery stores are nearby for any additional needs you might have.
There is a bathroom downstairs that can be accessed through a hallway door or a door in the guest bedroom. The guest bedroom has a king sized bed and a wall mounted flat screen television. There is a patio just off the guest bedroom where you can enjoy the beautiful commons area and morning coffee or al fresco dining at the table with seating for four people.
Guests really enjoy having a washer and dryer available to them. They are located in the downstairs hallway. They are for small loads but should you have larger loads, there is a larger washer and dryer in the pool house for guest's and owner's use.
Upstairs you'll enter a spacious living area with a Norwalk queen sized sleeper sofa and seating for six. There is a coffee bar and a large flat screen television in this room. The balcony has four bar height stools that provide you with comfortable seating for a breathtaking view of the ocean. Be sure and bring binoculars to take in the sights and also the dolphin that often play in the area.
The master bathroom remodel was completed in September 2018 and has a European shower and a double sink vanity. Both bathrooms have hairdryers. Towels, washcloths, and all bedding supplies are provided (beach towels are not provided so bring your own or there are shops within walking distance to purchase towels and any other beach needs you might have).
Other amenities include cable television and a blue ray dvd player. In August of 2016, we upgraded to a dedicated WiFi for St. Somewhere, rather than the one provided by our Blue Surf HOA, to insure our guests the best reception possible.
"St. Somewhere" is the third unit from the front of Blue Surf's small 26 unit complex. The beach and Pompano Joe's Restaurant/Bar are mere steps from the front door. To the west there is a ramp to the beach that makes it very easy to carry your belongings to the beach, no stairs to maneuver. Taking your children in strollers to the beach area is a breeze. Additionally, there are wonderfully well maintained public restrooms by the ramp.
We contract with a beach chair service annually, so included in your price, during the season (March 15-October 31), are two beach chairs and an umbrella that are set up for you each day on the beach at no additional expense to you (normally a $50/day value as of 2019). Since we contract with them, should you have a need for more than the one set up, they will rent those to you at a discounted price of $40/day/set. (Be sure when comparing units and prices you take into consideration whether or not this amenity is included or whether it will be an additional expense you will incur. $350 for 7 days set up is certainly nothing you want to be surprised about!).
If the sand doesn't appeal to you, you might prefer the pool (seasonally heated) at Blue Surf. Also, in the beautifully manicured commons area there is an outdoor shuffle board game and BBQ grills for your use.
The length of Scenic Gulf Drive has a sidewalk which is great for walking/jogging or perhaps riding a bike rented from a nearby shop. Behind Pompano Joe's you will find a rental company for watersports (parasailing, banana boat rides, jet skis, etc.). Pompano Joe's is a popular restaurant that has an indoor and two outdoor bars (one beach side). During the season there is live music at the downstairs beach bar. Bad Ass Coffee Shop is a nice morning stroll away and boasts a great start to the day with coffee, tea, breakfast and lunch items. Also, within walking distance (or a short drive either direction) are other restaurants and beach and/or rooftop bars.
Please read your Rental Agreement carefully. You will find contained in the Rental Agreement that St. Somewhere is a smoke free property. Smoking inside our unit or on the balcony or patio is strictly prohibited (this includes e-cigs). Also, renters must be a minimum of 25 years old to rent St. Somewhere and must be present throughout the terms of the rental contract. Additionally, please note that prices listed on this site do not include taxes.
