Sweet Vintage Camper in a Fun Farm Setting | House in Chickamauga

1 Bedroom House in Graysville, Chickamauga
Welcome to SydneyLand Farm! Glamp in a sweet little camper on a hobby farm!. We are in horse and cattle country but very close to Chattanooga. It's a bit of both worlds! Our vintage Avion camper sits behind our larger guesthouse with a view of the woods and pond and it’s own little world. Our friendly donkeys and goats are next door in the barnyard and welcome supervised pats and cuddles. Watch the fireflies, listen to the cicadas, and unwind.
The Just Right is an Avion Travel Trailer equipped with modern conveniences and the comforts of home. It is 32' long and has a working kitchen, a bath with shower and bathtub (!), and air conditioning. For cooler spring and fall nights, it has central heat. The back bedroom has twin beds (or can be converted to a queen bed—just let us know) and the sofa in the living room is also a twin bed. If you are a family of 4 and bringing a smaller child(7 years or older), the dining table and banquettes convert to a small bed, too. There is plenty of storage and the kitchen is stocked with everyday needs and small appliances. We leave coffee and tea and eggs for guests. Did we mention our wonderful chickens? They are a delightful afternoon meditation (block block).
Park your car just.a few yards from the camper. Do your morning yoga practice on the deck. Sit out under the awning and enjoy an afternoon beverage by the grill. After dark, build a small fire in the firepit and watch the moonrise.
Our property is 31 acres with lots of room to explore without going anywhere. We're kind of a destination place, so much more than just a place to crash. There are trails through our woods, big pastures to walk through, ponds to sit by, and a breeze to enjoy. If you need to work, wifi is available. But really, just bring a hammock and set it up between the two big trees right next to the camper. Be on vacation.
Our barnyard is home to 5 donkeys, 6 goats and right now, 35 very free range chickens. We rotate the donkeys and goats through the property during the day so there are plenty of opportunities to say hi. Please note that our chickens are in the yard (hopefully eating bugs) so we do ask that guest dogs be leashed when outside the camper and in the main yard—at least until we get an idea of how they react to the birds. There are a few other places that dogs can run free that we will tell you about when you get here.
New: WiFi is available in the camper!
Also, if you need to charge an electric vehicle, we have a level 2 charger on site for $10 a day.
Please be aware that the camper bathroom is quite small. Large and tall people should take note. However, a few steps away, in the SHARED LAUNDRY ROOM, there is a regular john that camper guests can use. AND we have an outdoor shower out by the pond that guests are welcome to try as weather permits. We use it, too, so you may need to wait your turn. :-)
New: finally, we now allow PETS! Please limit to 2 dogs but cats are ok, too. Pet fee will apply- $20 per stay- total!--(we love friendly pets). Since this is a new rule, we may have to add the pet fee on our end. Let us know if you are bringing your buddy. We do ask that dogs be leashed when outside around the camper and main yard. Our chickens are everywhere and some dogs maybe very reactive to them. There are other places to let your dog run off leash that are chicken free—we will show you when you are here.
We have 31 acres you can enjoy here at SydneyLand Farm. 4.5 acres of woods with trails, many acres of pastures with views, and a serene pond. You are welcome to visit everywhere. Dogs are welcome to go with you out to the pond for a swim after 4pm when the donkeys and goats are all up at the barn.
Looking to hike? We are 25-30 minutes from all of Lookout Mountain’s delicious hiking trails and parks. You can even avoid Chattanooga traffic to get there. The Battlefield has trails and is 2 miles away. The Pocket Loop is never crowded and is 30 minutes south of us. We have lots of recommendations. Rock Town for climbing is about 25 miles south.
Bring good walking shoes. It is a pleasure to walk the tree line around our 31 acres and venture into the woods as well. We have cut trails through the woods filled with amazing cedars. There is a canoe you are welcome to paddle around the pond in when it is high.
The roosters start early. The donkeys will bray when it starts getting light if we don’t get out there with breakfast soon enough. It’s a farm. They are a big part of what makes it wonderful.
If you are traveling with younger children, please be aware that the camper is not childproofed and that the steps up to the deck have no handrail.
Our other rentals are: Unique Farm Guesthouse #1313036 and Cowboy Guesthouse #1385824. Check out those listings for reviews and other possibilities. Booking both the main Guesthouse and the Just Right would allow 11-12 people. If you are planning a famliy reunion, this may do very well.
