Only 45 minutes from Hobart, the house features stunning views from every room, exquisite terraced gardens and a tranquil escape from the stress and bustle of modern life: a true hideaway. This spacious four bedroom home features two separate living areas, so there is room for the family with room find your own space. The seven acre property stretches alongside a full kilometre of the magnificent Derwent River, and is local to a variety of wineries and orchards, a brewery, whiskey distillery, and the spectacular Mount Field National Park. The property is also located between the Plenty, Styx and Tyenna rivers, offering some of the best trout river fishing in Tasmania. Keep an eye out for the resident Platypus who hunts for food along the river's edge. Enjoy the gardens on the property, all times of year there are different views and aspects to enjoy, the property has established fruit bearing trees (cherries, apples, pears, almonds and stone fruit). There is also a separate dining room that seats 8, featuring one-of-a-kind teak furniture fashioned from colourful recycled boats that once sailed the warm waters of Bali. Activities There is plenty to do in the area for avid walkers, visit Mt. Fields National Park for some spectacular scenery and connect with the environment. There is a small business called Tassie Bound and they do tours of the river. If you ring and book in advance then you will be assured of a place. The Salmon Ponds is well worth a visit and there are lovely cafes in the area to visit for some chill out time!
