We are near several of “the most beautiful villages in France,” among them Pujols, Penne, Bazas and Vianne. The spacious, two-story high living room has magnificent timbers and beams and a 17th Century fireplace. French doors lead to the terrace overlooking the canal. The dining room, adjacent to the living room, has a traditional farm table which seats eight comfortably. French doors lead to the front lawn with a swing set and a vegetable garden nearby. Stairs from the dining room lead to a mezzanine with a large convertible sofa, a desk and chairs for reading. There's a 'French blue and yellow' kitchen with a round table and everything needed for cooking. French doors lead to the dining terrace outside. Just off the entryway there's a large study with tiled floors. French doors lead from the study to the terrace and a view of the bridge and fields Caretakers: We are fortunate to have two wonderful caretakers for the house. Mme. Flora Boué welcomes all renters, shows them around the house and answers any questions they may have. She cleans the house and changes linens once a week. Nicolas Chabrerie, who lives next door (Mme. Boué's stepson) takes care of the lawn and grounds, wood supply for the fireplace, the pool maintenance and all heavy work. Neither of them speak English but do understand a little, especially Mme. Boué. If you've had high school French, you'll be fine. Children: In special cases we give permission for families with children under eight years old. The family must give us a letter absolving us of any responsibility for the child or children's safety or health. This is necessary because of the pool and the nearby canal.
